is it to late

hey this will be my first grow if i go ahead with this one i was wondering if it would be to late to start to grow a crop? a mate of mine has already got 10 nice little plants going they are about 15 cm tall. i live in tasmania and was wondering if there would be enough time for them to mature? they say show day is grow day and im already a few weeks late. any help would be apreciated thanx Edited October 24, 2004 by fuck_it_have_a_bucket

Welcome to Oz Stoner's, it depends on which part of Tas you live in but you are not too late to plant outdoors, if you live on the west coast then it would probably be too early. :: You can always start them off under fluorescents and plant them outside when the weather warms up a bit more.

hey tom thanx for the advice im going to have a crack at that. would compact fluro's be alright? how many would i need just to get say 10 or so plants started. ive got a little cupboard i think will be perfect. oh yeh and how long will i have to have the light on a day?

I would use at least four to start with and maybe boost it to six or eight in a few weeks depending on how long you intend to keep them indoors, I would run them at 18/6 so that they accept the change to natural day and night cycles easier.

yeah im thinking i will get 4. how much do you rekon it wuld cost to run them babies at 18/6 like you suggested?i rekon ill only keep them in there till they are about 10 cm tall or so and them move them to my outside site

wuld it be alright instead of have the CF's pointing down would i be able to have them going flat along the roof of a box instead? ive figuired out a way to mount them im just not sure weather it will be as affective?

Yeah, you can mount them horizontally if you want, paint the box inside with flat white ceiling paint or line it with Panda film for light reflection.

thanx for the help once again! will i have to worry about ventilation the box aint that big it about 50cm by 50cm but like i said its only to get them started in i was thinking for down the track would the compact fluro's be anygood for clones

CF's are fine for clones, if you check the mother/clone set-up link in my signature you will see the set-up that I had in Tas, if you only intend to start of the seeds or clones in the box then you should be ok without a fan.

ok im pretty much set then all i gotta do now is me CF's and wack em in me box. im getting some seeds this thursday of me mate who deals n ive smoked some of the buds off the same plant and the weed get ya pretty ripped :thumbsup i was wondering if you would have any advice on germinating how do you do your seeds?
