GREENERY IMPROVES THE SCENERY

Recommended Posts

Not at all itchy i love your posts, in my bigger patches ive had garden peas and suger snap peas growing and the smaller one have had all sorts of winter veges going and as it comes to the end of the season for winter vege i take all the remaining plants and half them up one half goes to the chooks and the over half i chop in half and turn back into the garden beds with compost and manure i do that twice a year ive got a big tiller machine that makes this job a bit easier but its a fine line you have to be careful not to over work the soil because itcan take all the air out of the soil if you go over it to much so i just give it a quick once over and its done,i did a couple of chook poo brew/teas through winter and the vegies seem to have loved it but im planning to only feed my cannas with fish poo water from the pond this year as ive had very good success in past feeding with the fishy poo water, thats the plan but things can change no matter what the plans are its really a matter of what mother nature has in store for the season i guess and then act accordingly its great how plants can tell you what they need or what they dont need but after all the ground prep ive done this year they shouldn't need anything but water im hoping,,,GQ

Hi timmy im just guessing but id imagine the sprouts just like a lot of other micro herbs have huge health benifits,i had a few plants turn hermie due to heat stress a few seasons back there no good for planting but great for sprouting and eating and making teas too as itchy mentioned,i love cannabis because every single part of the plant has a useful purpose, its just good for everything lol

nitrogen fixers are dam good , by using them you should need less poo

feed the chooks what you grow , perfect , closing the loop bit by bit / removing brought products

IMHO no need to till at all , just chop & drop , well the bits not for the chooks anyway

let the worms & other soil life , as well as new plants / roots aerate the soil for you ,

& in that way you keep your fungal community together , fungals take the longest to build

but once in action they control soil moisture & a whole bunch of other stuff

it is said that the fungal hyphae is the soils internet , can stretch for miles

fish poo water sounds cool , if the pond or what ever there in is healthy & clean

should be all good , if fish are alive in it you'd have to think it's prob half decent

i like the quicker teas = no bubble time , but if i am going to bubble or steep a tea

i tend to stick with a microbial tea & not nutrient teas , mainly cos 90% of what a

plant takes up is directly related to microorganisms , from them eating each other

or consuming organic matter , turning it into ready available nutrients

a microbial tea ends up being a nutrient tea

yep can def be allot of work but are we working smarter , i always wonder

how does a tree in a forest become so big & so old , with no assistants from humans

things have to work naturally or we wouldn't be here

That’s good to know. Not that I think I would ever been in possession of so many I could put them on top of a Sao with cheese :-). When people talk about making teas like yourself, are you talking about traditional tea to drink or as an additive for medium/soil? I know you can use tea in composting. Excuse my ignorance lol.
