Clay soil

Recommended Posts

ok cool

when you said lots gum trees

they can suck some moisture out & dry & harden things up pretty quick

if you can make a big pile of compost on top of your your plot

& wet it down as much as poss , the worms should make there

way in from under the pile once the soil is moist

the worms will aerate the plot & help to retain moisture

still don't think it would be ready to plant into in a month

Check ph, dig a trench, fill it with water ,time how long it takes to sink away after the 2nd fill ,

add aggregate to help with drainage and gypsum liquid form works quicker ...this is really something you should have done at the start of winter ,and organic matter, dig a trench out on the low side,so it doesnt become one big bucket...build the soil up a bit ...it will be a better site in 2 seasons
