First grow, please help

Recommended Posts

Hi o5, What about using a sterilized medium ie coco and perlite to grow in. Gives you a clean slate to work from so to speak (pertaining to nutes content, Ec & Ph levels). Whaxt your plants get you can control. Reduced pests and disease likelihood. I water 2 - 3 times a week. The perlite holds the O2 molecules you may be lacking in soil, (unfortunately it also collects spent salts so flush with lots of clean water every 2 weeks). Coco I think is the easiest medium, or at least the most forgiving.

Ps 4 things that have helped me get growing

pH 5.8 for coco. Buy a pen, buffers to calibrate, storage and cleaner. Treat the pen well it will work. Double rinse between solutions to avoid any cross contamination

A comprehesive nutrient profile youll find a grow shops. ie Something for roots, enzymes, silica, nitrogen for grow ( potassium for flower ) other nutes required. I use Go Green for Mag Cal ect. Then add your A + B to get to the desired ec. For flower Bio Diesel is a good additive. Its costly at first getting all these. You hydro bloke will help, these lots of brands. Ive been using 'the Professor' its good quality fir price.

Ec once you have an Ec pen its easy mix and match these nutes. A little more if this less of that depending in where your grow is at. With a more complex nute profile you cant wack the max amount of everything in or you'll rocket your ec and burn your babies.

As much airflow as you can. Controlled fans are the go for high fliw and stabilised temps.
