Wilma 4 pot system advice

Recommended Posts

Got ya mate, but as it stands the plants are thriving and I plan to train them as much as possible, might upgrade to a bigger system if I get the coin before next grow if not I'll have to just go with this system entill next grow.

I reckon I can grow 4 plants and get at least 2p from the 4 in the Wilma. I'm hoping anyway...

If you're planning 2lb from that, you might need to put some thought into it.  For a start the size of your grow space and lighting will need to be adequate, but let's assume it is.  How big is the res on that?  Reason I ask is that my usual recirc hydro grows yield up around 2.5lb, and I can tell you from multiple experiences that growing over the cooler months and finishing around this time of year, I go through 15-20 litres per day, so you might want to factor that in to your plans, along with the fact that consumption will be higher as temps rise from now on in.  1/2 a lb per plant is no problem to achieve, and a longer veg with pruning and training can get you where you want to be, but you still need to base it on a system that can sustain it.  Pot size could also be a barrier to your plans, sure the roots may be able to grow down into your res, but then you have to constantly monitor to keep the roots out of your pump and plumbing.

Not putting shit on you, or trying to discourage you, just making sure you are aware of potential problems.

I think 1/2lb is more achievable for the Wilma 4 pot system as this system is based on Sea of Green technique, if u want 1/2lb from each plant u will need to look into a bigger system designed for it as Hashy mentioned the Wilma will not cut it mate and its not designed for it

a system like this can yield 2lb very easily but u need to run a water chiller http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NUTRIFIELD-PRO-POT-RECIRCULATING-HYDROPONIC-DEEP-WATER-CULTURE-SYSTEM-DWC-28L-/282515038777?var=&hash=item41c7356239:m:mvlh69CVIXodEEpxsgALRZA

EDIT: forgot to mention don't buy anything directly i link you to just for security reasons but either build a system like it or find another shop selling the same thing, I'm a bit iffy about buying stuff i have linked my OSA account to on ebay

4th week into veg, about to flower but want to resolve this ph problem first.....when I done dwc I never had ph problems but now with this Wilma as my plants start getting bigger my ph is going from 6.1 to 5.7 in 6 hours using advanced nutrients ph perfect....

In 3 days it went from 6.1 down to 5.4. So I done a nute change. I’m thinking as people have said this system is not designed for a big grow and this might be the issue? By the way ph is going up and down when lights are of without a feed.

When was the last time u changed your PH meter batteries? Im using cheap Chinese batteries that came with mine and i am noticing they are absolutely shit my meter was out by .3 now my water is reading 7.1 with PH stable nutes so my indication is the battery' possibly same as yours

Med maybe give her a dip in the calibration that way u can be 100% sure but being PH stable nutes i donno man my PH should be between 5.5-6.5 and its showing 7.1 using Canna Aqua which is a PH stable nutrient so its got me buggered, not unless u live out in the middle of Africa and your my neighbour and we both have shit water lol
