So I'm following a guide that uses cfls and coco coir as well as nutrients it says i need to make sure I get 20% extra run off of water every water, what kind of pots would allow me to get this runoff ?

I'm going to be growing in a small tent, still undecided whether i'll use auto's or photo plants all help will be much appreciated!

I'm a total noob so there will be a ton of questions.

You can use any kind of pots you want, normal plastic pots, fabric smart pots of rocket/air pots. Coco has good drainage but most people mix it wit ha bit of perlite.

20% run off just means if you water with 5L you want 1L run off out the bottom. The amount you need to get that much run off is something you will get a feel for based on your plants needs and pot size etc.

I usually water every day in coco till I get some run off.

If your new to growing you'd be better off beginning with photoperiod plants .
