Nah can't run it like that the pipe work is copper which salt water (nutrients) will eat it away and contaminate the nutrient solution, needs to be titanium or 316 stainless steel to be corrosive resistant so i need to split the refrigerator side to nutrient side

 

i may get a 7-10 day ice esky's and place a pump in that to circulate the chilled water than run a pump from the res thru some stainless pipe into the esky and coil it than back to the res i think this should work

 

heres a pic of the chiller, in and outlet pipes are top left it also has a 350kpa pressure releaf valve doubt it would work with a nute pump, the long box on the left has inside of it the cooling bottle or cooling coil or however its cooled

The nute ec will have very little if any effect on the copper pipe at all. Just flush it with fresh water when you clean for a res change. Edited July 1, 2017 by nici

its all about planning if u dont plan u will fuck up and fail. i need to plan for now tomorrow the day after and in 4 months at the end of the harvest! any grower would know and understand this

I can't guarantee no mouldy buds i have had mouldy buds in the past but i now have a dehuidifier but as it is the chiller draws a fucking whopping 2.2amps thats ohms law 528 watts alone... and i was considering adding air conditioning that went out the window fast, fuck even adding the dehumid is like another 300watts plus my lights, fans, pumps this isnt going to be cheap to operate

 

decided on what i am going to do

 

i will run my dwc bucket than i will run a remote reservoir in the reservoir i will run a coil of copper tubing to the chiller but i will slide the copper tubing in a long lenght of pvc hose before i coil it that way it insulates the copper from the nutrient solution and should still function as a chiller

 

finally found an idea that will work

for mold spray buds w/ 2mL hydrogen peroxide @ 6% per 100mL water in spray bottle. 

eg, fill 500mL spray bottle with tap water then, add 10mL of hydrogen peroxide @ 6%.

 

no more mold.

you get mold from now on imma at you for being a dickhead

See how i go first run if i get mould than i might try it, just dismantled the chiller the inlet looks like a 25mm pipe the outlet would be lucky to be 6mm I'm going to have to jerry rig a reservoir on top of the chiller just to circulate thru the chiller and copper coil than run a reservoir for the dwc ganna have shit running everywhere I'll get it sorted

 

trying to work out the horse power rating of this chiller fuck it must be huge! I'll check out the numbers and see if i can find it

 

just found out its a 1/4th HP rating this thing should be able to chill a shit load of dwc buckets!
