All good guys, I just think for passive cooling to be able to work, your flowrate would have to be slowed down to the point where it isn't going to be very effective. Let us know how the experiment goes.

Easiest way is the same as done with Home Brewing. Run your water feed and return line through a plate chiller that sits in a bucket of water (glycol would be better), in the fridge. Simple setup and easy to clean.

Easiest way is to buy an inline water cooler (maybe not the cheapest, but fit for purpose)

I could only do this if i run with led's for my next grow i am thinking about upgrading to hid for flowering tho i will see how i go for temps if the tent stays cool than i will consider closing it off and running the experiment with one of those co2 bottles or the exhale co2 bag

Went and bought a nice industrial grade drinking fountain thingo but than realised i fucked up as it has copper pipes, the unit is pretty big one of those 1.6-1.8m tall fuckers but the whole pump and wiring is all on a neat little platform so i'll dismantle it and keep the good section it also has adjustable water temperature but this water fountain is a one way unit from mains to outlet so i will need to work out what I'm going to do

 

since its copper piping i am thinking along the lines of running the chiller chilled water into a transfer bucket where i will immerse a coil of stainless steel 316 pipe that will run to the dwc bucket

i think if you have a good look at it, from an engineers P.O.V. you will retrofit something that is efficient as well as working and fully functional , meeting the requirements of the specified role.

You have to design for the requirement too Gazza.

You want a cheap effective working machine that chills your reservoir water for your hydge kit.

You want everything to be neat & tidy also.

Easy.

I had a better squiz at it there is the basic fridge motor, a radiator, some piping and wiring not much very basic, everything is labelled in and out there is also a boxed off section which i think is a insulated chamber that the in and out pipes go into it says do not open so i wont as it may be like a glass flask and i don't want to fuck it

 

any how it will be a neat little unit once working got it for a song, nah really I'm no britney spears but i got it half the price of a second hand chiller

yea just prove which pipes are the water pipes and figur out how to boogie them nutrients from your reservoir in there and out again. or however you wanna roll.
