I Wanna Smash Something Decent Out...

Recommended Posts

Well the apprentice out done my biggest buds on his first run so it has me wanting to show the apprentice who's boss haha lol , nah really i would love foot ball size buds because it would be low maintenance and fewer plants for a whopper yield

i have a fair few different tents but the two i want to focus on are 1x1m and .9x.5m if i could pull 12-14oz from the smaller .9x.5m tent i would chose that over the bigger tent just because I'm tight on space and i already have enough led cobs to cover the smaller tent (bigger tent will require another purchase of led cobs)

eventually all the big buds get broken down and put into jars or bags so i guess they don't have to be huge but i would like to get a nice yield over 12oz

my apprentice nailed 11oz per 2 plants on first run from bag seed, almost double to what i get, standard untipped X-Mass tree's, if i had those genetics i could have done 4 clones in my 1x1m tent and pulled close to 25oz fuck.... just thinking about it.... but i killed my clones

that is why i want heavy yielding plants, less numbers, more buds, more weight, more fun

so far as mentioned i am keen to get my hands on the Chronic by SS they basically grow one main stem with a huge fat mother lovin bud surely i could get 2oz per pant that would put me on the mark for 12oz harvest and the Chronic was designed for SOG style growing so 6 will easily fit in my small tent

Hey Gazza mate,

Not going to lie, this thread has been a f*%#kin funny read.

lets look at what you should smash.....

its 2017 so you want to start someplace different

lol, gotta agree with Carnage, but at the end of the day it's YOUR grow mate.

My 2 cents on the Incredible Bulk:

That claim about football or boxing glove size buds all of the time is Stretched further than an old prosti's cnut!

I looked at bulk and in the beginning it was appealing: average 20+% thc, big yielder, fast finisher - 8 weeks.

what turned me off choosing bulk was a lot of people on various websites said they lost main colas to mould because

they're so dense.

Big issue for me considering its winter, however if you have your drying place dialled in, this isn't an issue.

Never read that you need to veg for 2 months though, that seems like it's personal preference.

Cherry bomb by Bomb seeds is one that has me greatly interested - 8-10 weeks, 17-22% thc, high yield.

Maybe worth checking out if you're still browsing.

Really interested to know if anyone has tried the cherry bomb before.

Good luck either way mate, hope you end up with something good.

Environment has as much to do with size and yield as genetics IMO, making sure temps are perfect, light is perfect, humidity is perfect, nutes are sufficient, and genetics are solid, you can't go wrong. If one of those things doesn't work out then can bring the whole grow down. Maybe not all strains can produce huge buds, but most can produce large dense buds if you treat em right.

I don't understand ? 6 plants in a 90cmx50cm tent ? Clones or just germinating ?

I'd personally run the 1m tent gaz, mate at the end of day, ordering seeds is always going to have a chance of them not coming through, unless you order from an Aussie bank, and believe me mate, I've ordered seeds from ams seed bank x3 times, haze io 4x, just ordered with dinkum seeds, every order I've ever ordered with I have used my personal credit card, all got through, no cops knocked on my door, at least not for ordering seeds.

Dinks skunk claims to be a high yielder, I haven't seen it grown out yet.

12oz from the 1m isn't impossible. My growing buddy pulls a touch over a pound a run out of his.

Run 4 plants not 6, scrog, veg an extra 2 weeks, and run dwc

This is so true hydro .. we had the best genetics in the world on our first grow but more than average soil and huge temp jumps destroyed the whole crop . I've noticed people stress over just one factor too much , ie, their light . Etc but I truly believe to pull off a good grow , like you said , it's a mixture of things .. humidity , temps , air flow , genetics , nutes , lights , etc..

I was watching the 20th anniversary of the cannabis cup DVD . In the special features there's a 40 min Q&A with Arjan from Green Seed Co. He talks about all your elements having to be correct and if one isn't , work on it til it is . The right equipment giving you the perfect control over your crop , not just lights and genetics .. everything .

Gaz I think your apprentice got lucky with a combination of these elements and pulled off what he pulled off .. I could be wrong but I've been reading for the last 8 months at least a hour a day , some days more and it all comes down to all your elements lining up perfectly to get that big yield ..

Just my 2 cents . [emoji1308]

Well put Jim, the best genetics aren't a magic bullet which can fix any other issues.
