Best grow location for highest yield.

Recommended Posts

Hey growing geniuses where would be the best spot to place my new babies?

Im looking to put these puppies in the ground because ive had bad experiences using pot plants, the previous plants I grew the buds just didn't weigh up to anything, 4 plants total weighed just over and ounce in buds, so much quantity but it was just so fluffy & not dense at all. This is the next generation, its just bush though unfortunately, I want to get my growing exp up before moving onto strains.

My neighbors are cool and used to grow in the NZ before so they wont be an issue, probably maximum of 10 plants running along the side fence i presume for maximum sunlight, what do u guys reckon on the location?

Yes, I know, the yard still needs more work but all I want to know is where the best place would be to throw them in, the far right corner of the fence gets heaps of sun from about 11-5 so I was thinking it might be ok there also but I don't want them getting too hot or too exposed in the sun as they wont be able to get moved around being put into the soil.

Any pointers on how to get HUGE plants outdoors and nice dense buds?

In the ground minimum 6 hrs direct sun i found to be ok where i used to grow but for real dense buds you need more. prep the ground now for spring planting. Lots of organics as a basic start with chook shit or horse. Blood n bone bit of lime gypsum etc. Compost compost compost! Get some pea straw around the bases you should get some decent results. Dont plant now though it's too late!! As for fence line you'll have to keep those babies low and wide. Top and bend your way there.

Where are you at approximately ...

Bush just means it was not hydro and they are a strain....albiet unknown

bush is a descriptive word.

Yep bit late ..nth facing spot near a wall this time of year .

Watch your yard and see where gets the sun all day ..build an igloo this time of year.

Dense buds are more about genetics than growing.

You wont know till they flower ...

Buds get denser the longer they cure too.

You can fatten any bud but if it isnt dense in its traits it will only be so... so.

Awesome thanks for the advice, ill get to prep then. My soil is pretty good im sure, especially around the fence line on the right theres been heaps of decaying matter from the leaves of the tree's & stuff that have fallen down over the years so im sure its a good spot as any other to pop them. Im not too worried about height, as you can see theres heaps of plants with long leaves so the ganja should just blend into the surroundings.

Im in sydney - inner west approx.

I thought bush was a term used for a plant grown outdoors? I cloned a plant from a mates place, popped it into the ground and turned out to be a hermaphrodite so i just got seeds out of it, those are the seeds ive germinated this time around.

Im not too concerned about the most yeild or how big the plants get, i just want to build up my experience with growing outdoors and getting a decent smoke out of it. Its mainly for the experience though.

Cheers for the input guys!

You could grow with those seeds but the most you'll learn is not to use hermaphrodite seeds

Though you could get lucky and get a couple of girls but more likely to end up with seedy Hermis or males.

You'll also learn winter is the wrong time to grow unless you have the ability to control the environment .

Although it can be done , but not advisable for a first grow.

Best advice would be to start an indoor grow while prepping your outdoor soil for next season .

But ,,,get female seeds ,,,saves the heartache of finding males or hermis.and wasting

your own time without really learning much.

Possibly indoors is out of the question for you ?, planting outside now will only give you something to amuse yourself with

But it won't teach you much that would come in handy later ,,,except not to plant now.

Sorry if I've dampened your expectations ...I do understand your eagerness .

Try to be patient and keep reading there is much good info here at OS.

Cheers

What he said.

Plus it might be worth changing your location in your profile info to something a bit more vague.

And relying on one good neighbour who has grown in the past as being good security for growing in an urban backyard is brave to put it mildly.  You can smell it a mile away, which can attract all sorts of unwanted attention, but some growers here manage to get away with it.

Thanks for great advice mate, that was actually really helpful.

At the moment indoors is definitely out of the question for me - my house is too small so dont really have a place to grow it, also another problem is i recently just quit my job so i really cannot afford to go off and buy a whole bunch of products to start an indoor grow.

That being said it isnt my first grow, however it may as well be because im still learning heaps daily however i have grown plants in the past before.

I actually had no idea planting hermie seeds would give me male to hermie plants - i presumed it was all about the luck of the draw?

You havnt dampened the expectations because i wasnt expecting anything in the first place, to be honest i didnt even think these seeds would have germinated let alone sprouted, so far its on the up & up.

Im not the slightest bit fussed about my location, who really cares right? Plus, if the pigs wanna find me, they'll find me regardless if i have my location up or not haha!

Ive actually never had an issue with the smell, ive grown the max of 4 plants at a time and you couldnt smell them at all unless you put your nose right up on the buds - i highly doubt these babies will be more pungent given they are just random seeds from a plant and not even a know strain, plus im not an experienced grower so they wont smell too much im sure of it. Plus the neighbors wouldn't even notice the plants due to the condition of my garden anyway. Plus i hiiiiighly doubt they'll grow to any decent size anyway haha. Cheers!!
