I have been reading into this gas lantern routine. Not too many backing for it but the people that do are pretty preachy on how awesome it is.

 

So it kinda tricks the plant into thinking it's in flower by having 12 hours light but in the 12 hours dark you add an hours light halfway to "wake" the plant back up and stop promoting flowering. So 5.5hrs off / 1hr on / 5.5hrs off.

 

This is also a method people use to find out sex without flipping completely. There's other positives I have read but can't think of ATM.

 

I was just wondering if anyone on here uses the technique? And if they could offer any type of review on using it? I am seriously considering just from what I've read. It might help my flowering clone out a bit instead of telling it to veg again.

This is the first i have ever heard of this interruption, you'd think its a wise tale from an old green thumb that use to check on his plants once in the middle of the night by turning a light on....

 

but lets keep this real and within check...

 

what if that 1 hour is mimicking the moon over someones back yard on a full moon, possibly the whole idea may have gotten lost by adding sumpliment dim lighting to a grow area like a small CFL and not actually turning on the HID grow lights?

 

this could play a role in this process....

 

the whole earth, moon and stars had caught my eye at one point with the Almanic charts for fishing, the moon plays a important role on wild life i think it may do the same with plants also...

By any chance have you blazed a few this evening? Your gettin deep there Gazza. I'm pretty sure it's an old greenhouse trick for flowers. Like actual flowers. Not the smokable kind.

there are certainly flowers that come out at full moon.

Yep, Hotrod was a true believer of 12/1, and did alright considering the temps he was getting in his shed.  Enjoyed his grows, but haven't seen him pop up for a while.
