Another fn Hermie lol

Recommended Posts

I know Hermies get a bad rap these days with easy access to seed banks and feminized seeds but, if a Hermie pollinates itself the seeds will be 90% female yeah? But still carry the genetic trait to Hermie all of a sudden lol..And if a Hermie pollinates a pure female then those seeds are feminized seeds yeah ?

Hermaphrodites that turn naturally instead of as a result of stress have the trait in their genetics, so you'll get mostly hermies in any offspring, whether selfed or crossed.

The fem seed you are referring to allegedly comes from when a fem plant is allowed to go well into late flowering and starts producing nanas in a last ditch attempt to create seeds, that's supposed to be an old school trick that gets 70-90% fem seeds.  Or alternatively, force a fem with colloidal silver, tireas mist etc, and use the pollen created for making fem seeds.

As for hermies, if you've no other plants around, grow them out and make hash or oil.  It's not as potent as seedless buds will make, but it's way better than nothing.  But if you've got any other plants around, ditch them or they will pollenate.

:peace:

Hermie self pollination can cause  all Male seed too. Or Male hermie perhaps.. Had an outdoor girl seed up last year. Grew 12 seeds and all 12 started flowering as male before i killed them.

If it pollinates a a female next to it the seeds are meant to be all female. But as stated, the hermie gene doesn't go away. I have grown all female from bag seed though, It's like hashy said. A late stress flower pollinates a separate female and you can get decent female seed but self pollination won't

Im just going to let the new Hermie go to seed and see how they turn out..I can't be fucked picking this one apart as the heads going to be full of seed from the way it looks already. I still have one female left so hopefully that doesn't turn as well and the first Hermie is budding up nicely with no new sacks showing in the last couple weeks
