Growing under shade cloth

Recommended Posts

yeah i use Ag plastic which is 15% shade

& i've added 30% shade cloth to that

hard to see though but you can see a green blur

recommend Ag plastic , it defuses the light to give you a more even coverage under it ( think , shady side , light side = more even light )

been up a few years now , has not ripped , has come loose in wind a couple times but pretty

strong otherwise , i will say my space is prob a lill protected between 2 larger structures

She spent about a month all up out in full sun. But for the past 2 months shes been under 50% for with about 7 hours of direct (shaded) light.

I have topped her twice, fimmed her once and supercrop'd every cola multiple times in veg. Now she is in foower im just low stress training her very lightly to allow for maximum light penetration.

I did have a problem with spider mites and thrips but i painstakingly dusted them off leaf by leaf.

This is my 1st ever grow so I've been doing hours and hours, and joints upon joints worth of research! Youtube is a growers best friend. I have only recently discovered this group. But iv only seeing positive things so far!

I have my fluky White Widow clone in coco happily flowering in my white 50% shade cloth Tunnel House, It survived the past 40* + days and now expecting great performance with this coming week of high 30s.

Reason I call her fluky clone is due to my beginners stuff-up with mother, after she was cut down mid flowering there was a tiny 3cm growth with bud on top I dipped it in gel stuck it into 6" pot of coco in shade house. Much to my surprise a few weeks later after my hand operations I noticed she had  grown a bit so I pinched the small bud off and started to feed her Expecting to see a hermie but no she has turned out great almost mature Lady...I will try to attach picture.

A week ago I was thinking of bringing her inside to finish in the tent but followed good advice from the forum...so glad I did too,no problems with pests at all.

Looking good man! Have you thought about low stress training her to get some light into the middle? I would highly recommend it. Nice to see someone else using shade cloth with great results!

Thanks for your reply, Yeah! she is tied down fairly well LST with plenty of buds open to the light, atm I am recovering from surgery on both hands making things a bit difficult to do much more. the second pic is one of two main colas with around twenty smaller but good colas making their stretch all the way around.

The white shade cloth seems to be doing a great job, it seems as if it is having a reflective effect and maybe a deterant to bugs too but it could also be due the potted Lavender behind?? using the shade cloth was just a bit of luck as that was where the trial clone was put and just grew  sometimes  luck happens.
