Pistels browning 2 weeks into flowering

Hi guys,
This is my first time growing and up until now it has been going quite well. I'm in ACT and have no idea what strain these are as they were given to me by a colleague.

I'm two weeks into flowering and some of the pistels are turning brown.

Can anyone tell me if this is a problem and if so if there is anything I can do about it? I've checked the soil PH with a cheap reader and it reads 6,5 which I believe is perfect.

Also with the PH being as it is, should I still add nutrition? The plants are in a home made super soil that I have tried copying from an American site last November just before the girls went in.

It's also probably worth mentioning that we've had a massive heat wave the last 2 weeks or so. But I've Tried to keep the plants out of direct sunlight in the middle of the day.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would be surprised if its a pollination issue as I got rid of the male plants about 3 weeks ago. They started pre flowering a few days before the ladies did. I also don't believe any of my two remaining plants are hermies. 

 

The pictures aren't great I'm afraid but hopefully you can see the longer dark brown pistils. On some of the other flowers just the tips of the pistils are darkened and rolled up a bit which could indicate burning?

 

Is this going to be a problem you guys reckon and will it affect the harvest?

Saw a few dried pistol tips ,,probably the heat .

 

I wouldn't worry about it.

 

Always helps in really hot weather to give weaker level of food compared to water .So that she can drink heaps without taking in too much food

I'll keep a close look at them to see if more of them are turning brown. I haven't given them any food at all as the soil was a "just add water" recipe from an American grower that I tried to copy here in Oz. Couldn't get all the exact ingredients so I'm wondering if I should give them some extra food during flowering? Don't want to overfeed them.

 

Has anyone else experienced browning if the pistils this early? How does cannabis normally take the heat in 35-40 degrees C?

Do most outdoor growers put them in the shade or would you leave them in as much sun as possible?

Let us know the recipe and what wasn't put in the soil....the soil growers here can help directing you if you need to add any foods

 

They look big enough to be in the sun .but you don't want them to dry out .So watch for drying leaves and wilting

 

 

Try keeping the direct sun off the sides of your pots .

 

They look healthy though.

I can't find the recipe I tried copying but from memory I used:

Equal parts compost and mix. Most expensive brands from bunnings.

Worm castings, dolomite lime, cow and chicken manure, blood and bone, perlite and 2 bricks of coco coir.

I also chucked in loads of worms.

 

The things I didn't put in were bat guano, Epsom salt, A Dead fish and there was one other thing that I can't remember.

 

Would be interested to hear if it's smart to add some nutrition now the girls are flowering!
