I hear you brother, my ears pricked up as well lol .

Hey flamstaa can you tell us some more about your experience with the leds , what is the heat and coverage like , also the penetration of light how is that .

Cheers

The lights I have are a bit different than most in that the lighting area is 42 inches sq. They produce a lot more pars then HPS and you can buy a dimmer (highly recommended) which means in veg they're only using around 300 watts to get best performance results. You need a moderately even canopy and in winter you need heating but they are the bomb no doubt. The temp difference between my I'm not sure on your layout and how these units would fit but here's a link to the manufacturers website

Power consumption is a real issue for me so replacing my 600s with more of these units after this round

Gazza Its inside  a big old timber shed thats shaded under trees, so it would aircon down pretty good Id reckon .

That might be your problem, air conditioners are only efficient if u have insulation,

in a timber shack i would imagine that would get pretty hot, have u worked out if the cool tubes are creating this excess heat or the heat is coming from the intensity of the light?

Without running C02 etc what do you think for the config for my room dimension,  min light, min no of plants, max yield .

Hey Roadblock,

Here's a link to a calculator that might help for your lighting http://www.cannaversity.com/calculators/lighting.php

As for the minimum numbers of plants for max yield, the answer is one plant. Just like lighting vs area vs airflow, it isn't plant numbers which increases yield. I grow one plant SCROGged, spread out to fill my space. The laws in my state allow for one plant and that's all I grow, but by doing SCROG (SCReen Of Green) I spread the growth out till fill my entire space, like this https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/gallery/image/10063-7/ . Once my screen is full I then turn 12/12 and allow the growth to grow up thru the screen. I could shorten the grow cycle by having more plants, which would take less time to fill the screen, but my flowering cycle (12/12) would take the same length of time, so at most I could save myself a couple of weeks of grow (18/6) but the hassles of having more plants and the growth management can be a bitch to manage, so the 1plant is enough for me. Less head fucks IMO.

Well I cut back 2 lights and passive vented each cool tube separately sideways instead of a row together with the last tube having the hyper fan venting the room through it , at the other end at ground level is 2 x 300 ml holes , midway up that wall I fitted a window air con 1600 watt max blowing up towards the sealing, I have that set to medium with an open vent, and the hyper fan wound back to about 50% extraction .

Its 37 outside now and its 31 in the room at 45% humidity , as far as I can see its been a success just got to balance temp with extraction and the other figures will be ok, I never wanted a closed room I just wanted to knock some heat of the top but still have ok ventilation , in winter time I slow the airflow right down to generate heat and the plants dont mind a bit , so I thought the same way here that I can lower airflow so the aircon can  bring temps down and they will still get enough exchange air to fully flower out.

Thanks for the ideas guys.
