Basically these plants will flower within about 35 days from seed no matter what. 

 

Best you do a lot of research because you need to know what your doing to get good yield from them.

 

In my opinion they are not as good as normal photo period plants but this depends on situation.

When they first hit the market big or when i actually noticed auto flowering plants people were only getting small plants but as of about a year or two ago i seen some diarys on another UK forum under LED lights and shit u not they are growing plants big enough to fill tents with decent yields

 

me personally i don't like to gamble so i would probably never grow this type of plant, i like to be in control of when they flower and at what height

I heard of ruderalis in the mid to late 90's but never linked it to being auto's, around 10 years ago when auto's made it big on the market i thought they were a new breed of strain

 Pure ruderalis had little to no THC so it was bred with some high THC normal photo period strains to become what we know as Autoflowers.

Yeah they're ok to muck around with while your photo's veg. I did around 20 this year, and same as photos it all comes down to genetics for mine.

 

I read about Ruderalis 20 odd years ago, russian ditchweed that grows on the side of the road but only gives a headache but isnt photo period sensitive.

 

Can you grow them all year round outdoors? sure, you can, but results will be mixed depending on time of year. i tried some end of winter, put in water middle of August they grew and flowered but struggled all the way, compared to the ones planted in warmer weather (hooter loves sun) it was night and day.

 

What i have learned so far about autos u can grow cold but its an exercise in frustration, but if you staggered them and say grew them from Oct to end of may you can pull some nice numbers and smoke, but you gotta get a lot of things right when you start so the autos have time to grow before they flower, if your fixing mistakes and waiting for them to recover from mistakes then yields and potency will be affected.

 

The yard i am in atm i reckon i could easily do 50 over that period.

 

Are they worth it or better than photo sensitive plants? given the right situation they can best photos but for my situation right now, i need good smoke and weight for meds, so no not for me and in my current situation, yours may differ and they could be completely acceptable.

 

Potency of the autos i grew this year was all over the shop from avg to pretty good
