delaying outdoor flowering

ok, so I grow lots of herbs, you know your parsley starts going to seed, or your basil begins flowering, you nip them off, and keep it vegging, 

 

can it be done with dope? I dont mean Re-vegging as such. just soon as flowers appear nip them off, and continue......

 

Couldnt find anything online, lots about re-vegging, of course.

I think they need additional lighting since the are a photoperiod. like garden spot lights I used some last season when I started them a month or so too early

don't work like that mate 

 

light , just keep an outdoor light on ,

lill cfl / flurro porch light is enough

 

just need to put the light on now , B4 flower starts 

pros & cons , starting later means finishing later = colder wetter

I suspected it wouldn't, but thought if basil and parsley do, why not? anyway, just thinking out loud really, and curious.

 

I have a silverbeet here that must be many years old, its "trunk" is thicker than my arm, and wood/hard. I cut the flowers and 90% of the leaves off and it starts again, but this is more re-vegging.

 

but, with an outdoor light, could you keep it alive until NEXT summer? again, not seriously considering, but its interesting.

i would think it's no diff to keeping a mum for clones 

apart from the weather of outdoors

yeah certainly get very overwatered in winter.

would be fun though, since I grow for growing sake mostly.
