Heat lashed seedlings.

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Have 2 unknown bag seed about 5 weeks now.

Had 40c plus in week 2 outside.

Under a 250w cfl on 18/6.

100mm from light.

175mm pot with Searles premium mix, wood chip removed and 10% perlite.

I over watered in 120mm pots and repotted into 175mm and have been good with water since. PH of soil is 6.8.

I trimmed bottom branches as they were brown and dying.

New growth is good. Oldest leave is starting the same browning. Heat?

Light on is fine but its 30c sometimes with lights off. Has only had half strength seasol. Have a few others as I got a few beans in after the heat incident. Everything else is younger but doing far better including this triploid.

All thoughts and opinions welcome.

Chip chip wood chip

turn in into potting mix

Sell it through Bunnstards

retrieve your cash with checkout chix

Never mind the yellow tinge

the potting mix is wow

cough cough cough cough

there there my cash cow

bark, sticks and backyard waste

pinch of aspestos adds to the taste

Bunstards soil all over Straya

Use it now and garruntee your failya

Blood and bone should bring up your N (compensate for the bark robbing it ), P and Ca levels.

Looking into making your own soil is an option if you have the time

Ps they look alright for the most part aswell.

Thanks RR for the poetic advice. They look OK given their mistreatment.

Have some blood and bone.

Have time to make a mix of my own.

First proper grow and have researched a lot. Lots of opinions out there. Could a cal mag additive do the same?

Got a few pots with this soil in there.

Not very worried if the bag seed is male but have a few femenised white widows in too. Same mix. Looking fine so far but they didn't get the 40c scorching.

When potting time make adjustments or add blood and bone on top?
