Black bugs on my outdoor plant

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the reply i dont really want to use a bigger pot i cant let it get too big, too much water at the mo could be correct also i will back off a bit. As ive said this is a learning process ive never grown before.

Grown from seed, used premium potting mix and some NPK fertiliser from bunnings thats it. The plastic looking thing is if you use the pot inside its a gauge to see how much water is in the pot it has a bung to drain the water dont use the bung for outside.

A plant that size how often should it be watered?

Im going to get some pyrethrum and some nitrosol today might try a bigger pot too im aware the plant is bound by the size of the pot too.

is your pot a sip / wicking pot , res in the bottom of the pot & that's what that plastic thing is measuring , water in the res

if it is , the point of those is not to water from the top , but only fill the res when empty so it wicks up though the soil

the down side to those things is rain , the moment you get water through the top while still getting water at the bottom

you over water

Ok so as ive said new to growing. Found a seed decided to germinate for a laugh and went from there.

I used premium potting mix and some NPK fertiliser and some water thats it, probably too much water by the sounds of things.

I will back off on the watering. How often should a plant this size be watered?

I will try some pyrethrum and some nitrosol and possibly a bigger pot too. Im aware the plant size will be governed by the size of the pot at the same time i cant have a 6ft bush either.

I reckon overwatering might be a problem

It's all good mate , not trying to give you a hard time

the more info the better help from the community here

I am picking but it's , info picket not personal

go by the weight of the pot , feels heavy , push your finger in the soil , feel wet = 2 signs of not to water

pot feels light , push ya finger in , feel dry = 2 signs you need to water

i can't tell you when to water , it's something that will be individual

to plant & conditions ,

Cool bro its also been a week since i tipped the plant and i still have to take out some of the old shade leafs too so im gonna let it go for another couple of days try watering it as per the above see if there is any improvement in colour with some nitrogen and possibly re pot in a bigger pot.

As ive said before guys all opinions and tips appreciated its just you guys know a heck of a lot more than me and its more embarrassment on my behalf but hey ive got it this far from seed so im going ok

no embarrassment gotta start somewheres , & we've all been in your shoes

re transplanting , would be better to get the plant up & happy again B4 transplanting

no good to add stress on top of stress

in saying that , i don't know where you are but flowering outdoors is getting close to starting round here

so not sure how much time you have left to play around

there are constant grower choices that we all are going to have to make , noob or expert ,

right or wrong = live & learn

I have gone for a much bigger pot and have bought some pyrethrum and nitrosol not sure if theres a nitrosol for veg only il attach some pics if someone knows if its the correct stuff to use can you let me know before i use it.

Also inspected the root system and it was all white and fluffy looking a bit wet but no brown or slime it had reached the outers of the pot so good shout on the bigger pot.
