Pest identification

Recommended Posts

identification is def the first thing to do , Is he a good guy or bad guy

http://anic.ento.csiro.au/insectfamilies/

not a total rule but in general the fast moving little buggas you see in soil

& around plants are good guys , the slow moving ones most likely bad guys

i don't know what that is , try the csiro link or you'll have to google descriptions then hit images

if you don't see any pic that looks like what you have

try another description

Neem oil sprayed on a healthy plant once a week as preventative is good

start to your IPM , you can use rosemary oil as a pesticide & thyme oil as a fungicide

saponins in aloe & soap nuts can also be used as a pest spray , top dressing neem cake

& adding crab shell to a soil mix for liming & the chitin in the shell adds to the health of a plant

be careful with oils , sprayed at the wrong time of day or using to much will freak the F out of your plant , go easy

start small ( drops ) & work up , spray a test plant first or just a few lower leaves ( rosemary can be Hot ) , most oils

like thyme rosemary peppermint are contact killers , if nothing else your garden will smell pretty good after a spray

don't want to be spraying anything in flower , hence the need for a healthy plant with a healthy immune system

so she can fight her own battles

prob not the best on what bottles to buy

personally , inoculate , inoculate , inoculate

top dress castings , compost or 50/50 of both

& few other amendments but as far as bottles go , for price

fish aminos are not a bad thing to use all way though

Eco Amino-gro fits that bill imo http://ecoorganicgarden.com.au/products/fertilisers/eco-aminogro/
