A few different questions..

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have a few questions that have been on my mind recently.

What size pot would achieve 8 oz outdoors? I know the bigger the better but I'd like to know from others who have used all different sizes there experience and the yields from each pot. Also is it better to use a deep tall pot or a shallow length?

For the outdoor growers - how many hours of direct sunlight are your ladies getting per day?

On weeks that are between 30-40 degrees each day how much do you water, and how often?

I've spent majority of my years growing in the ground in the bush, just trying to get a gauge on growing with pots and what yields can be pulled using certain pots.

Any additional info you want to share on your grows feel free to share. I'm very much interested to hear from other Aussies.

Cheers guys.

On really hot days I have read that you can just flush the pots with heaps of water to cool the dirt and roots down, but otherwise I have read on this forum that if you put your pinky finger into the dirt up to the 2nd knuckle then pull it out, if its clean you can add water if dirt sticks you don't need to or have too much so let it go for a bit.

Prob a good idea to give some extra nutrients after flushing to cool the pot.

Pots size go as big as you can lift, so you can move them around to get them out of the direct sun on hot days, I brought a couple of pull buggies off ebay that I use to move mine around the back yard with.

The 8oz plant, sheeeeesh cant wait to see the answer to that

its 40 deg atm (6pm) where I am, so will be giving mine a seasol soak when it gets darker cause i gave them a good flush a couple of hours ago.

I use 430 or 530mm pots (can't remember exact size) from bunnings and last season if I didn't get ripped I reckon I would have avg 6-8 oz per plant.

From memory mull plants like to search down with roots rather than to the sides

I water as needed. If they wilt down abit water then that evening. At the moment I'm 9-15l every 4-5 days with full strength red powerfeed with a flush water every couple of times.

Thanks guys.

The pull buggy is a great idea, definatly need to get me one.

I wish I could go the biggest pots I can get but I have height restrictions and have to work with what I have at the moment. He'll I'd just grow in ground if I could but we cant have real estate walking into the yard seeing some 8 ft bushes :D
