Police finding bush grows

Recommended Posts

@Reg - I didn't say that mate, re-read what I said. The ribbon that was used could be bought at any $2 shop.

GM - exactly right buddy. That's what was used.

Never heard of blue ribbon being used to mark fire tracks or dams but Im in a different state. Care to post some pics of the blue tape being used in the bush?? Im interested to know what to look out for..

I'll snap a photo next time I'm at the spot.

I figure I'm going to try and find any cameras that might be set up. If I can spend enough time down there I'm confident I'll find them IF there is something set up.

If I don't find anything I'll be setting up a trail cam the next visit after. If I find a camera, I'll be ripping my girls up(thankfully I planted them in ground still in their pots) and moving them far away.

Really appreciate your guys help :)

This thread got me thinking again on this topic and i had a little brainwave.

If police do indeed set up trail cams to try capture evidence(which i am dubious about, i think they would just pull them and move on) then you would expect them to be of similar tech to our own trail cams with IR led's in them for night vision, then i remembered that obviously the optical sensor in the trail cam can detect IR, so can other digital sensors. So i tried out my mobile phone in a pitch black room and pointed the tv remote at it, bingo lights up really well. Tried my trail cam aswell works really well, very visible bright spot in the darkness.

So my idea is to maybe go out to my site that i think is possibly bugged(been quite a bit of traffic nearby lately with some people poking about 100m away on one of my trail cams) and stay out there till dark and then walk around the plants slowly and scan around with my phone camera to see if i detect any IR light.

Was thinking one of those new 360 degree camera's held above your head displaying onto a tablet in front of you would be ideal, but my phone will suffice for now.

The theory people go by is that the police need to have pics of you tending to the plants, so their camera's would have to be pointed at the plants and have IR good enough to reach them no? Or is my plan doomed to fail because the police may only use daytime camera's?

Wondering around out bush at night isnt my ideal way of having fun. This area is quite open and i would like to think if there was a camera in range of spotting me i would have seen it by now, but i know with my own camera's ive had someone look right at it and not even notice it(they had found my plot and knew id have a camera somewhere and still didnt see it).

Interesting thought GM. And I really like that idea of picking up the IR with another camera.

Since my post, the plants have been pulled. I suspect there was a camera set up, although in the time I posted this originally and then went back 5 days later they had been ripped, and I never got a chance to spend time down there looking for a camera. Had I known what I now know earlier, I rekon I would have found a cam if there was one to be found. Really really wish I posted this thread a few weeks earlier.

So now im just waiting for a knock on the door, no idea if there's footage of me, no idea if there even was a camera but with the everything that went on down there I suspect the cops would have some surveylance going. I know for certain the cops went down into the bush at least 3 times, so chances are something was rigged up.
