Rockstar_jones
Hi guys, first time grower here growing 1 plant in my backyard. My plant is 4 weeks old and has just been transplanted into a 55l pot which I have recessed into the ground. I was originally going to plant straight in the ground but I figured nearby gums would probably suck all its moisture and nutrients away etc Using the premium osmocote potting mix from bunnings. I am on good terms with my neighbours and have 8-10' of privacy all round my yard due to climbing plants in front of all fences so not too concerned of getting sprung. I am also growing lots of tomatoes and chilis with good success. Currently running a mix of seasol, powerfeed, charlie carp and gogo juice once a week with watering most days as it is fairly hot here. Pictures will follow soon. Rockstar_jones
I noticed something had been having a feed on the plant and discovered a few grasshoppers. It has been a mission trying to catch and squash the bastards. Sent from my iPhone using OZ Stoners mobile app
Harry Bootlace
apart from being a bit eaten looks fine. I see a few people here using thin wire (?) for LST, never used it, but does it cut into the branch as it grows, and also does it get hot in the sun?Thats my only concern, im just guessing here, never used it. Rockstar_jones
I had the same concerns regarding the wire but its a pretty thick guage and didnt seem to really have a great deal of tension on it. The plant seems to have already adjusted to it and grown. I should be able to reposition it a bit further along the branch in a day or two. I was originally looking at using some sort of wide/flat strap where it contacts the plant but seems fine at the moment.
