Home done feminised Autos.

Hi, I have a question regarding feminised seeds. I am contemplating planting feminised Autos outdoors, next Spring. As they are not cheap and don't yield a lot, I was thinking about feminising fresh seeds from already feminised seeds from a seed merchant using silver to achieve it. Now my question is, does anyone know if it can be done, or will the resulting seeds be predisposed to turning mophy's etc. The idea being to acquire a shitload of feminised seeds for little money.. The purpose of the Autos is to plant early and avoid the obvious annual aerial activity.. I can't do cuttings due to the early head onset of Autos. Any help on sizable strains of Autos for outdoors would be helpful as well. Ones that nug up properly...

Cheers..B.B.

Thanks for the replies. I now all about using colloidal silver to promote female pollen sacks. I've done it several times with varying degrees of success.. The only issue I have is, if I start with feminised seed from a seed company, and then hit one of the plants from those seeds with the silver, will it really mess with the chromosomes. Like its a double fem hit, and my concern was if it will perhaps promote hermies. I'm no geneticist... I followed the above link M.T. but its mainly standard silver techniques, unless I missed something.. I found a few supposed larger auto strains online this morning. If they grow over a longer period, I would be content to take cuttings. But I mean, how do you take a cutting off something that starts heading in 2 weeks..

I understand your concerns, it's basically the same logic message my brain screams at me.  But, I've done it, also done it with auto's, and the offspring turn out as lovely ladies without problems.  Still can't bring myself to pollinate the same plant the forced clone came off though, even though others recommend doing it, that's just taking things too far.  I've got some of the auto fem offspring growing now and they have budded up nicely, and have shown no hermie traits or even nana's even though they are very late into flower, so relax and go for it.

With autos, force your fem ahead of your main grow, as it can take ages to collect pollen so you need to do it in advance or it will be too late by the time you get your feminised canna jizz.

Thanks heaps for all the responses, you've put my mind at ease.. As i'm doing this outdoors, I now need to track down some good auto strains for that. Big ones that yield well. I don't even mind if they take 3-4 months to finish. That still gets me done before the nerve racking aerial shit starts. I've been doing this outdoors for about 45 years now. Really looking forward to playing a new tune. I wonder do you ever lose the urge to grow pot?, nah, silly question.. Wannagrowbuds i'm off to check your link. Thanks mate..

Cheers. B.B.
