Strains For Back Pain

OldManDallas

Question

Howdy all

I suffer from severe back pain partly due to an accident i had a few years ago resulting in 1 crushed and 3 fractured vertebra and in the past year it has become worse and worse. In the beginning they had me on so many different pain tablets and i was even going in and having injections straight into my lower back to try to relive the pain, worked for a little while but now has little to no affect what so ever :(

I have tried a few strains like Mazar, Deisel, WW to name a few with good results but im on the hunt for the "Perfect Strain" for back pain.

So i would like to hear from other peoples experiences and what they might recommend for this kind of pain..

Cheers.

FARK, I was about to post. First I AM SO SORRY, I have an adult daughter, I cannot believe what that would be like.

I suffered chronic Pancreatitis for years, never felt anything like it before (or since)

I was/am an alcoholic, sober now for a number of years. And no attack for at least 3 years now.

When I finally quit drinking it was discovered my pancreas was badly scarred and had grown pseudo cysts to hold the pancreatic fluid in where it was leaking out (eating away my insides)

I was put on a waiting list for an operation to connect the cysts to my bowel so the fluid would drain through, stop them getting bigger (2 were size of a large orange and two about golf ball size)

Waiting and waiting, they said 6 months, but still waiting, all the time getting prescribed pain meds, tramadol, endone, oxicontin, etc etc.

I voiced my concerns to the doctors, that I was an alcoholic and months of opiates etc was possibly just going to lead to a different addiction. But they said there was nothing else that would help, and "we can deal with that addiction when the time comes"

One night one of the cysts burst, I was asleep and I thought someone had hit an axe into my back, sudden excruciating pain.

called 000 (was living in a boarding house fort old drunk men)

emergency surgery, and a couple of months in RPA, morphine non stop.

finally can eat again, etc... they let me go with a script for some pain meds, no repeats, adios amigo.

so, became addicted to mercindol, panadine forte (when i could get a script) etc etc. packet a day over the counter pain meds.

Shopping around town so the chemist didnt notice how much I bought.

thankfully now I shook THAT addiction, mostly, sometimes when I am suffering really bad anxiety I get back into it. But its ok now.

AND thankfully now I havent had a pancreas attack for ages.

anyway, again, so sorry to hear that story. I see I am very lucky.

I was an alcoholic.

I had bad back pain too.

I've fixed up my bad back from studying diets and workouts from around the world.

Now I go to the gym all the time.

I started going to the gym big and fat and only to strengthen the muscles around my spine.

My back was making me take pills like valium , tramadol and even oxy sometimes.

Also I drank.

Not good combination.

Initially bought a strain with cbds in it.

Grew it and it was the one that got me back into smoking weed everyday.

Since then my cbd collection has grown wild.

I smoked a j and went to the gym.

After the gym I smoked a j.

I couldnt feel anything in the gym or afterwards when my muscles were relaxing.

I owe it all to hard work and of course cannabis.

I would recommend any 1:1 cbd:thc strain

they were my favorite to smoke before a gym session and afterwards.

Medicann Blue Blood ( blueberry x Og kush ) roughly 1:1 cbd:thc was my first high cbd strain

Not the biggest yielder but by far a sticky sticky blueberry that tasted smooth and I loved smoking her.

had another 1:1 purple bud fruity one here, so I crossed one of its males over the blue blood.

plenty of seeds of 1:1 now.

I just recommend 1:1

generally they cover any form of depression or anxiety as well.

some cover more.

Cheers Carange. Yer i been looking at strains with a high CBN"s and CBD's today but so much reading though its not funny lol

Ive been told to strengthen my inner core and back muscles so it takes some of the pressure off my spine but the work i do is pretty physical already, i have to maintain 14 acres by mowing, whipper snipping, chopping trees, concreting and building ect. By the end of the day when i sit down for a beer it so hard to get up and that's when the pain kicks in. And i refuse to take any more pain tablets. Luckily i work for myself and can have as many smoko breaks as i like lol.

Defiantly gotta try a more CBN percentage strain..

Hey OMD,

I realise you are looking at CBN strains but just on a side note, I find mixing things up a bit helps too. I have a variety of strains in my stash but I also have a variety of hashes and oils. This allows me to mix'n'match. I find if I continually smoke the same strain it loses the beneficial effects I need, breaking it up with a bit of hash smoking or a bit of oil prevents this from occurring. Now, admittedly my pain is not muscular/skeletal so it may react differently, but I find the differing forms to be of great assistance.

Yea I hear ya there merl1n,

I had 10+ strains and a heap of hash and brownies .

All had different effects.

Mix n match and change it around a bit to stop tolerances building up higher than 3.5g  a day.

Had a lot of fun mixing n matching Kosher, skywalker and chem Dawg.

sometimes I just wanted a lil cbds so I would just mix half a j of blueberry 1:1 in with a mix of kosher and skywalker and chemdawg.

had an old bazilian and some trippy sleepy-hallucenating weed too

come to think of it i had tangies , sinmint cookies , bubba ,  trainwreck and a heap of others too...

was like a different party errytime I smoked.

Even now.

There's no 1:1 cbd:thc here atm tho the chem cross i smoke has a few cbds in there so I'm covered.

Smart idea bringing the mix n match up.

I call it a 'Cocktail'  coz I don't drink no more. :D

thanks for that, I'd CERTAINLY be interested in something that

1) helps with anxiety (I also suffer depression, but it doesnt bother me much anymore, more like an old friend- i relax into the fact I dont really get "happy", but anxiety is the worst.
- the times I have smoked over the last 20+ years (less than a handful of times) I have been so anxious and paranoid I just dont do it anymore.

2) helps back pain, damaged my back at work 10 years ago. only option is a risky surgery, that "might" help. No thanks.

- I think most men after  certain age have screwed their backs up, at least all of them I know.

If you read my grow diary post, you know I was/am growing because I miss growing, I dont smoke. And silly me never thought about growing for medicine for MYSELF.

So Ill certainly look at the strains mentioned to help anxiety and pain. You know I wouldn't care if it didnt get me "stoned" at all.

THEN the fun of growing, has an end benefit also.

at this stage when i harvest it will all probably be given away anyway.

So thanks.
