Autumn 2017 Outdoor Auto SOG (possible?)

OK is this nuts?

 

I am going away in March for 8-10 weeks.

 

What if just before I leave, I put in the ground a heap of Auto's?

 

Question, if the days are getting shorter, do they just straight away try and flower? or is the flower time sort of set in so at week X no matter what light is doing they flower?

 

They would be in the ground. I envisage a SOG set up with a stack of them.

 

Ill have retic watering going. And make sure soil is packed with good organic matter for the time.

 

would this work?

 

PS id like a relatively SHORT strain (as in height) to be extra careful about stealth. 

 

PPS I have never grown Autos before. Never even heard of them until recently.

Why not, but I would put them in a month maybe before you go, so they have started flowering and you have dialled in some sort of auto watering system..

if u've never grown automatic flowering cannabis seeds before , you probably wont realise they need 18-20 hrs light a day.

 

in saying this, they can be grown outdoors.

 

when grown outdoors they take longer. they still need the same amount of hrs of light. if its 12hrs a day light instead of 18hrs a day light ... obviously its going to take 50% more days outside to flower them

 

every 12-13 week from seed autoflower i have had took 16 or 17 weeks till i was happy enough to harvest it

 

if you plant them now, you can probably harvest them in May some time.
