Experts suggest 9 weed strains to get you through a presidential debate

Tonight's debates have all the excitement of a national sporting event, with the added joy of extreme global consequences. For some, this may be too much to handle. So for people who don't want to drink alcohol or meditate to deal with their anxiety, Oregon's legal cannabis might be the answer. We turned to the experts to find out which strains of weed are most likely to get you through tonight without too much trauma.

Remember: Cannabis is legal in Oregon, but you still need to be 21 to consume it and you should never use and drive.

1. Super Silver Haze

Robb Arnold, the owner of Jayne, says this sativa is perfect for the debates. It's "energetic, uplifting and great for high stress," he says over the phone. Bonus? It "helps with nausea," he adds.

This strain is almost 29 percent THC and .08 CBD.

2. Crystal Palace

Arnold says that tonight he might reach for the indica dominate hybrid Crystal Palace for its "relaxing and good pain relieving effects."

This strain is 22 percent THC and .09 CBD.

3. Hazy Kush

KK who works for Calyxes but can't be named because she still lives partly in a "prohibition world" says this Green Bodhi creation will work well for watching the debate on multiple levels. "The beginning is uplifting feelings," she says, "and the Kush kicks in maybe an hour into the debate" when you'll need to be a little more relaxed. She says this balanced hybrid is especially good for women.

This strain is 22.24 percent THC and .62 CBD.

4. Dawg Walker OG and 5. Sour OG

"When it really gets hot and heavy," says KK, "I would go for Dawg Walker OG and Sour OG." "Those can handle any crisis," she adds.

Both are hybrids that, she says, are perfect when you need to remember: "They might be crazy but they can't take my happiness away."

Dawg Walker OG is 25.9 percent THC and .2 percent CBD. Sour OG is 22.6 percent THC and .2 percent CBD.

6. Stephen Hawking Kush

Matthew Criscione, a grower rep at Oregon's Finest, suggests this indica dominant strain from So Fresh, "so we can open our minds and still our bodies and not run away when it gets scary."

This strain is 5.95 percent THC and 14.2 CBD.

7. East Coast Sour Diesel

Since the debate is happening on the East Coast, Criscione suggests this sativa. "It's more cerebral to get your mind buzzing," he says, "and make you pay attention."

This strain is 21.1 percent THC and .17 percent CBD.

8. Buddha's Hand

KC James, a manager at Bridge City Collective, suggests this sativa hybrid, "So you can be kinda zen and take it all in and not yell and miss an important point."

This strain is 19.48 percent THC and .65 percent CBD.

9. San Fernando Valley (SFV) OG

Finally, James recommends this "sleepy" indica hybrid. "I pick that one to bring the nerves down a bit," he says, "because the debate might be a little too intense."

This strain is 23.36 percent THC and .86 percent CBD.

My expert advice on strains for a debate are just about any.

Best way to get through a us presidential debate, make sure you have a few grams mulled a clean bong your comfy chair.

You have now made your mind numb in a very enjoyable way you now dont have to turn on the tv to watch the debate to make mind numb with there mindless dribble :P
