led cfl light combo

hi guys has anyone use led and cfl lights together i been doing a bit of studys on different light spectrum on internet . with the cfl light you can get red 2700k for flowering and 6400k blue for veggy . Can i used the red light spectrum for a little while during night cycle to increase flowing size and faster time to havarst thanks boarderliner

Night cycle means no light at all whatever the spectrum

I realised I was wrong , there are green lights that some use if they need to be with the plants during night cycle,- for whatever reason.

 

The green light doesn't wake the plant or disrupt it's sleep

 

Otherwise it's a no no .

 

12 hours of dark means not even filtered light should get in , it will disrupt the heading cycle ,and delay harvest

As Serrated mentioned, the Green light is only there inspect the plant/s during the night cycle (while regular lights are off). There is no benefits to be had for the plants with the green light.

 

This is the type I use to have in my flowering cabinet, but I found it difficult to see anything anyway. Green light on green vegetative matter just doesn't work.

Hi mate I personally haven't had much luck with the LED I bought it was a pro source 180w illuminator and it is a piece of shit. Fivetomidnight is running Mars hydro with good results check out his grow diaries for some tips maybe shoot him a msg. Keep it simple but, you can use both spectrums of red and blue the whole grow from what I understand about led's. Your CFL will carry veg ok for the first few weeks of seedling stage but than I'd try get that led cranking em along if it will. What type of LED did you buy? All the best

Just want to ask how much your intending to get out of your grow and if you have a size restriction? If not buy a hid lighting setup, they are cheap, don't cost a bomb to run and will give you the results your after. I fucked around with CFL and Led but I think if you want to grow some quality chunk, go straight for a grow kit ie tent, fan, light, hangers etc
