80W Philips Users

Hello everyone, just getting my first batch of seedlings going after a year's break and I have a question for the growers who use an 80W Philips CFL.

 

My seedlings are between 1-3 days old and are now too numerous for my 24W CFL to light adequately. I have an 80W but don't know how far away from the seedlings to keep it. 

 

Obviously this is my question... how far away from the top of new seedlings should I hang the light?

hey lou im running 2 x 80w and you can get them nice and close when the plants are mature anyway i would say 15cm to 20cm should be fine until they get a few leaves. all the best with the grow hopefully plenty of buds for you have a good one.

Thanks Stix, if the harvest is anything like the last one I will be very happy. 

 

The plants will be under the 80W for about 3-4 weeks, then I will swap over to the HPS.

Hey Lou,  as close as you can, without touching the bulb.. plenty of breeze and hot air extraction and your laughin!!

Can anyone link me to these 80w Philips CFL globes, please?

 

I have been running a 150w MH setup for my Veg/Cloning Cab in the past, but I'm not really pleased with it. It gets the job done, but being of such low wattage the lumens tend to drop off dramatically from about 30cm from the bulb. And seeing I'm already using a 150w in that Cab, I'm thinking I'd probably be better off with two of the 80w Philips CFL globes instead.

I had heard rumours around too but I still see em on ebay here and there.

Be a shame if they are discontinued.

I am still using the same ones from 4-5 years ago...

Saved me heaps of power and best CFL I have used. 2 will do a mum/veg/clone area easy peasy and keep temps down over summer.

..the word is they are being discontinued (spoke with ADHS guy)  I want one too.  Or two too.  It would be a shame if they ae I think they are better than the 130 or 250W cfl....and they fit in to a lil shade too.
