I have read that "Carnival" is the happy strain are there others? I am not after a strain that's going to send me to lah! lah! land, something to help with depression and lift me up a bit with get up and go.

Currently I have a White Widow in veg, now I find out it will be unsuitable for me.

A strain guide for beginners would be good

This is my first grow and have managed to get just about everything wrong, this is after reading and asking questions.

My next grow will be so much better as I have learned by mistakes, the only thing I got right was to start with a single plant, I'm glad to say my current grow is growing nice and strong despite its leaf problems, she is almost ready to flip will be interesting to see how well she rewards me....Cheers

And so, life returned to normal, or at least as normal as it gets in this primitive dirtball inhabited by psychotic apes. Thanks to the effects of the Hash waves, the people of Earth have not memory of what had transpired, except Nibbler, and no one believed him or cared what he had to say. I, meanwhile, returned to my post, ever vigilant, lest Earth again come under Hash attack. And when that day comes, God help us. God help us all.

I've actually not heard of the Carnival strain.

I love sativa's and sativa-leaning Hybrids.

a few uppy, happy, active, creative strains I like are

Jack Herer  -
XJ-13  (has Jack Herer in it)
Hawaii Sativa's
Blue Dream

if ya feel like a read... last time I went to Cali I did a diary, I figured out I had a preference for sativa's, there are lists of strains tangled into the thread and what I liked/disliked about the strains.
https://cannabis.com...perience/page-1

also try
www.leafly.com
for some general idea's on strains and the difference between Indica (like the White Widow) and Sativa

also

ask its of questions!!!!

See ya round

i'm surprise you dont think the white widow will suit you.

its a 60/40 indica/sativa strain and a very balanced stone.

relaxed body, but not couch locked, and a decent sativa up and happy.

a good all rounder.

i think most people would be happy with a cone or 2 of WW.

What Slicker said.  I'm also a bit surprised to hear that about the WW, was that from experience, or from what somebody told you?

I've only had the one WW, it was by Dinafem, and it was pretty close to what you say you are looking for.  That was for me, but as Ozzy said everybody's reaction to a given strain can be different.

You will really need to experiment a bit to find what you're looking for.  I would recommend sativas and sativa hybrids if you want uplifting, but be careful as some sati's will definitely send you to lala land where you will find yourself being able to converse with Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men lol.  Best place to start is with strains which are commonly used in a lot of hybrids as a good way to narrow down the genetics you are looking for before experimenting with the huge variety of hybrids on the market.

I have just found Malawi by Ace seeds to be a bit like what you are looking for, provided you don't toke too much of it, very relaxing and pleasant for a pure sativa.  And strangely enough Afghan #1 by Sensi Seeds is a very happy stone without the heavy couch lock stone you would expect from an Indica, but it's doesn't exactly energise or lift up like a sati will, but if you want medicinal outcomes later in the day it is brilliant.

Enjoy your journey :peace:
