brown spots on leaves, boron?

Recommended Posts

hey boys plants looking healthy as, just added potash into my res this week, 4 weeks into flower my plants are beautiful and looking healthy, although i popped my head up in the opposite side of my scrog this week and noticed all though my plant is green and the buds look great there was a few leaves looking like this, is this boron deficiency? i did notice my ph was a little too high in my res at 6.4 and then my brain was 5.7 so im thinking maybe the random ph flux might stir them up abit?

My advice would be to give it a flush at 6-6.2, you're in week 4 of flower so your ph should be a little higher. If you need to get some cal-mag all your hydro shops should have it and GH cal-mag is really good. I wouldn't worry too much about the cal-mag if that's the worst your leaves look. After a flush it should help things. Old leaves tell a story of the past new leaves let you know what's happening now. :)

But if you feel more comfortable getting it back to 5.8, please do so. I'm just a novice myself but absolutely love the science of it all. Plus all strains are different and might like a higher or lower ph compared to others.

Best of luck in the garden.

Hey Capa,

How many weeks of 12/12 are you at??

During the grow process (lights at 18/6)the plant makes reserves of nutrients, it stores these reserves within its leaves. When you turn to flower (12/12) the plant starts to draw on these reserves, usually starting with the shade leaves down low. This process turns the leaves yellow as the goodness is drawn out of them.

I ask 'How many weeks of 12/12 are you at??' as I've found its usually around wk 5-6 I start to notice the lower shade leaves loosing their colour. I flower for around 13wks, by this time most of the bottom leaves have turned yellow and been removed, the tips of the head leaf are also bleaching by this time as the sucks all its goodness into the buds.

Personally, if those leaves are down low, I wouldn't be too bothered. It only the plant doing its normal processes IMO

Hope it helps

im @ week 5 and a half i think, my mentor said to cut my first nugs off at 56 days so 8 weeks. these leaves are on top, i have 70% humidity in dark and 55 with lights on. not all of the plant is effected by these random spots but a few prominent branches have it but some branches are green as can be. temp 19-24 consistently, gonna give a good flush in 2 days time with fresh nutes and see how we go also. my ph in my res is 6.0 but ive noticed my ph is down 5.5ish in my brain, any reason why ph would be dropping in recirc?

I ran recirc the first time I started, then changed to run to waste which I found much better. Ph seems to fluctuate no matter what, I have found mine always goes up.

As for my reason for changing, I was told this analogy. Recirc feeding is like handing out the same plate of food every time, but every time something gets taken away. So by the end of the week you're basically feeding your plant bugger all, unless you're topping up with nutes during the week.

I would also say get the ph to 6-6.3, has anything changed with the way things are looking?
