ruthless
Hi guys need a help with a seedling. If I plant a auto flower outdoors. Would it survive the harsh weather change?
Sir PsychoHashy
Would be a waste of time and a seed unless you're up in the tropics, auto's perform very badly with anything less than ideal conditions
lux01
Yeah just have a look at my little experiment for evidence. Wrong time and also overwatering and mites. But I'm sure I would have had more success if they were planted in spring
ruthless
ok thanks for the tip, I did notice one of the seed breeders in canada uses a green house setup only. I think she uses it for her outdoor only setup throughout the year.
Sir PsychoHashy
I know some guys in the higher latitudes in the northern hemisphere like growing autos outside in summer as the season is too short for photoperiod plants to finish in time, and their summer days are very long, and parts of Canada would fit that. Pretty sure the Ruderalis genes are native to Northern Europe. Personally I prefer indoor for autos, and struggle to break the 1 oz mark for a plant outdoors in late Spring early Summer, so go for bigger numbers outdoors. They can be a lot of fun to grow once you know what you're doing, even if they don't do as well as photoperiod plants.
QLDPOTHEAD
I just did a post in the southern hemisphere page about my grow coming into this winter. We live in a very cold winter area and with some precautions, I am very happy with the outcome so far. I posted some pic's of the progress of the plants that were planted on the 26/03/16....
