Nutrient scam - Am i getting what i paid for?

Hello all

 

So,  I have been using Growth Technology Optimum and when i got my first bottles A+B i got home and noticed the lids were not sealed. They had a plastic seal but its just attached to the lid and spins off with the lid.  Then i noticed that part B looked like it had a generous liter in it but part A had 850-900ml in it at most, visibly different.  I went back some time later and the guy offered me NF Root Nectar 1L for $20. Seen it selling for $80 so grabbed it. Same thing, Not sealed. Makes me very suspicious how he can even sell it for $20.

 

Today i really need bloom nutes so i go get em and what do you know.  Not sealed and visibly different levels of product in each.. I don't like going to that store as the cops do hang out there sometimes recording rego's. So i am not going to go back there and question them about it.. I have sent an email to the store asking politely why but i don't expect any response.   Next week i will visit a different store and see if theirs are sealed.

 

The stuff seams to work fine, my plants have been happy but i am just not sure i am getting what it says on the bottle..

 

Does anyone else get nutrients like this?  Anyone here get unsealed bottles of GT or any other brand?

I have used those nutes in the past and from what i can remember all the ones i got where the same.

 

And that would of been through diff vendors over the years i used it...

Bugger the email, go back there and ask the question... Put them on the spot... Sounds a bit bodgy to me....

Ok, thanks good to know... Just seemed strange as the bottles have seals on the lids and i would have thought the manufacturer knew how to use them and knew what 1 liter is

 

My plants haven't complained but Ill definitely pay a little extra for something else next time.

I was told that the lids used for the 1lt bottle where ment to be for the 5lt that y they dont seal.

 

But i really dont know to be honest why they dont seal...

I don't want to cause a scene, i have a feeling they might be like this everywhere.  I would rather check out the facts before i go in there demanding answers, especially if other stores sell it the same way.. If my plants were sick i would be worried.. I really avoid being seen at that store unless i really have to go there.

 

I still think it is suspect and even if the bottles come from the factory un-sealed that just makes it too easy for some unscrupulous person to water it down and resell it.

 

Next time only sealed stuff..

I doubt it's watered down, surely you would at least fill it right up if doing that... !

Yer i never had any issue along those lines, but yes it dose leave it open for who knows what.

I agree.  Even if its all good i prefer piece of mind.

 

I bought other brands there like NF and they were the same,  I don't think multiple manufacturers have problems with sealing their bottles.

 

Its all too sus,  I'm just going to shop somewhere else from now on and see what they have.. I will email the manufacturers and ask them about it too. I don't know of any other liquid product anywhere on any market that comes in an unsealed bottle but ill just stay away from them till i find out why.
