Dutch Master Nutes

Recommended Posts

Hey all , Does anyone using dutchmaster nutes know anything bout this.

I use the original formula and ive just bought new a + b bottles of "flower".

However when i got home and looked at the old bottles ive noticed the graphics on the label are slightly different and the NPK ratio`s are slightly different to the new one`s

WTF !!

The ratio`s on the bottles ive been using are ; Flower A = 2 : 4 : 7

Flower B = 2 : 4 : 7

The new bottles ; Flower A = 2 : 0 : 2

Flower B = 1 : 8 : 12

The only difference is in the nitrogen but im wondering if one of these sets are old stock

or if theyve just changed the formula.

Rang my hydro shop and they were baffled as well . :peace:

Yeah i emailed them as soon as i noticed Luke so hope they get back to me soon.

I also forgot to mention that the original bottles i had were $20 odd dollars each and the new ones were only $22 for the pair , new ones also have carbon whereas old ones dont.

I usually top off with nutes every second day and i dont want to add the new nutes to the tank if its going to upset things.(still running the last of the old nutes at the moment)

No matter though ill just do a nute change and quick flush tomorrow.

Big price difference though.

So you top up nutrients in there during the day to day running of the system? I'd make sure you don't do that for too long at a time unless you've got a bio-ponics system which is able to absorb and to some degree ensure there are ample amounts of all nutrients in the solution and not too little either.

This can be hard to do, but some are having success on OG growing from start to finish with little or no changes of nutrient, simply topping up the concentration as time goes on. But this is not what I'd recommend myself for most growers.

How often do you flush and reformulate? Oh yeah, and what kinda system you running?

Hey Luke,

Ive got a recirc satt system,

What ive found works best for me is if i set my CF at 24 for a fresh tank of nutes , by the following day theyve usually drunk around 3-4 litres of water so ill top of with around 2 - 3 litres of plain water.

Every second day i top off with enough nutes to bring CF up to 25 and the following day ill just top off with plain water again.

I also top of with slightly less water than they use so by the end of the week theres only 10- 20 litres of water in a 50 liter ress.

Sort of hard to explain , i pretty much just go by how the plants are looking now and what Cf readings i get after i top off with water but i never let CF drop below 24.

Some might say that a CF of 24 is a bit weak but i use liquid potash + at nearly double the recommended dose to make up for it . dont ask me why ive just found this works best for me.

I flush and reformulate weekly allthough i have let them go for nearly 2 weeks with no problems , took a hell of a lot of water to flush them though.

This is my first grow so i dont know if im just havin a bit of luck or pushing my luck but i havent burnt a single leaf (close) and im 5 weeks into 12/12 with 4 different strains g13/hp , whiterhino, spc indica and a bubbleberry and it couldnt have gone any better.

"If it aint broke"

Yeah "carbon" its the only difference besides the nitrogen and the price! lol

Dont know if that makes any sense , the misses bought a half oz of some nice widow and a 6 pack this arvo . :peace:

Good stuff mate. You're flushing and reformulating weekly, and the plants are happy, so yeah, they should be okay. A good idea would be to set up a feeder reserviour, which is raised above the level of the nutrient reservior, and then connected via a piece of 19mm pipe and a float valve.

This would mean that your nutrient would always be topped up with fresh, pH adjusted water from the feeder res whenever the levels in the nutrient tank dropped. So you won't have to add water daily, just once a week or so to the feeder res when you do the normal flush. I use a 60l feeder, to a 30l nute res, and this works damn well for a couple of plants scrogged out under a 400w. :peace:

But yeah, good luck with the growing man, if it's your first grow and all is well, I'd say you're doing darn well man. :P Any chance of a pic? We're bud perves here...

btw, you're right on the money with the ec at 2.4, that's about how high I go in summer in my recirc system, strain depending of course. lol Course, I'm bubbling this time, so it'll be lower, but yeah, 2.4 is about where I finish up at mid flower, and kick on like that until the 2 week flush at the end. :P

Unfortunately Luke i spent my camera budget on an exhaust fan a while back  when i realised bathroom fans dont cut it with 600`s , humidity wise anyway , but im going to borrow a cam and take a few before i pull them . :peace:

With regards to using a feeder tank , im actually going to convert to a run to waste system with perlite for the next grow and copy the setup you used for 1 of your grows , cant remember which 1 it was at the moment.

Ill be a lot happier knowing they are getting a fed a fresh nutrient mix at every feed instead of a recirculating one.

How long does the 60lt feeder tank usually last Luke ?

Gotta ask , is there a reason you changed to the bubblers ? or was it just for something different?

Hmm, might see if i can borrow the cam this afternoon , love to show a couple here.
