Canberra - growing and advise on dosage

Aussieau

Question

Hi guys/girls,

New to the forum, old to the world of cannabis lol. Just a quick background then if anyone can offer any advise I'm all ears!

Just moved to the ACT from WA due to my father being diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemo which isn't going down to well(ended up in hospital for 10 days due to severe reactions) now my dad is as straight as they come but he is that sick he has asked me to locate some cannabis to help him with his symptoms. Unfortunately as I've just moved here from Western Australia I don't know anyone to be able to pop over and grab some stuff for him. So what I've done is bring some seeds back with me from WA, I've done a little research but my knowledge of growing is very small, is there a common amount of time it would take from seed to weed? As in roughly how long it would take to be able to have some usable product so I can make canna butter etc? Inside and or outside is it the same amount of time? Is there anyway of speeding up the process? I don't particularly want to wait 3 months or more to be able to help my dad so is there any quick ways?

Finally I purchased a magic butter machine to be able to turn the cannabis into a product my father would consume(smoking a joint or bong would be too hard for him to get his head around I think) I've read plenty of different info but is there any standard amount per stick of butter you would use for a chemo patient? As I've really only used a bong or vapouriser I'm not sure on how much I should be adding and the info on the net is anything from a quarter to 2 ounces per stick?

Thanks for any help you can offer, it would make it a lot easier if I was from the area I think so my only option is to grow so if there is any special tricks or anything I should know growing in Canberra please let me know. I would hate to have the first harvest go to crap or not work or something when my dads pretty much relying on it to help him get through

Thanks

Steve

The only quick way is to buy some that is already grown and harvested but that sounds like a non option for you.

Next quickest way is to grow your own but that will take at least 3 months.

Another common option is drive to Nimbin to get some but that is a long way from Canberra.

How much plant matter to butter varies because of differences in plant matter (eg quality and whether it's buds or leaf), and personal preference so there is a bit of trial and error involved. Try to base your recipe off recipe/s that use weight measurements not sticks or handfuls.

Thanks for the quick response naycha, yeah finding something already harvested would be my best option but unfortunately I haven't had any luck in that regards even though everyone tells me it's everywhere in Canberra ! lol not everywhere I'm looking I guess. Nimbin is a bit far for me as I'm actually a disabled vet myself with a back injury so travelling that distance isn't an option. I even resorted to looking online and sending emails to ppl offering stuff but as I thought before even sending the email this is just a scam to get money.... And as I thought, yeah PayPal the money and he will send it to me lol but when your desperate to help someone who is dying u will try anything( not that I was stupid enough to send the money lol)So I'm looking at the 115 odd seeds that I bought back with me and although my experience growing is zilch I either get them in the ground growing now or I'll be kicking myself if I still haven't been able to locate anything down the track, if it was just for myself and my chronic pain I wouldn't even worry but as my old man is sick as a dog I would dearly love to be able to ease his symptoms anyway I can.

Anyway I guess I look into growing more, does anyone know if it's too late to plant in the ground under sun in Canberra? Or should I bite the bullet and get some lights and just plant in soil under lights( I just want the easiest way possible until I get a few harvests under my belt)

Thanks again for any advise .

PS how much per plant can you harvest or is the question like how long is a piece of string ? Depends on light, strain etc etc I just read somewhere that the watts per light equal grams per harvest eg 600 watt light should produce 600 grams of bud? Does that sound right? Sorry for all the questions I know they are prob answered everywhere on the net but I'm just needing it as quick and as accurate as possible that's why I thought join the forum and see if any locals could offer inside knowledge on how best to grow in this area

Cheers

Steve

Easiest would be grow them outside. It's not too late to plant but no way of knowing what size they will get. While they are growing you will be able to organise yourself for indoor growing if that suits you.

How much you will harvest indoors is definitely a piece of string question. Generally it is more like half a gram per watt and as you gain experience you will build on that.

Thanks naycha good advise I'll throw a few in the ground now and see how they go, one advantage I do have is I know how to identify make plants at there early stage(picked out hundreds for a friends grow years ago) so I know I'll just have females which is one advantage I guess as the last thing I want is seedy buds, Craigslist I think is more of an American thing yeah? I lived there for 7 years and yes that was a viable option if desperate, I just don't think people use it here but that's what I'll be checking once I post this.... Right about now lol

Lmao, well I tried Craigslist thinking it may be a long shot, found a post supposedly in Canberra, downloaded the wikr app they all want to use for security and found someone that was in Canberra that could help! Wow amazing, well I thought so, then after organising everything he said you know how the first payment goes right? I said yeah I give u cash u give me what I want deal done.... No not that simple he said, just go find a 7/11 and send a cash payment to me, he then proceeds to send me a picture of a sample receipt showing a 7/11 receipt with a name it was sent from and an amount etc in Australian dollars, what my new friend failed to realise was that at the bottom of the receipt it showed what the Australian dollar was transferred to and the amount he received in Central African francs .... Hmmm a long way to get a delivery i think lol

lol he then said I was very stupid as some of his stuff comes from Africa and the first payment always goes to the supplier! Wow how stupid I am, that's the norm in Australia to get ur weed from Africa on tick and then for every new customer u send the first payment to the supplier to pay off the tick... Simple right? The worse thing is he proceeded to send me pictures of numerous people from Australia that have sent him money! Up to $420 ! I'm sure those people are regretting that now! Long long wait from Camaroon to Canberra lol, well it would be funny if I wasn't so desperate and if I didn't drive up the servo and get money out thinking it was legit until I got the 7/11 payment txt then it all went downhill :( this is crap that it's so hard to locate something for a person dying of cancer, unfortunately by the time the governor gets off there ass and completes trials that are pointless(haven't enough trials been run around the world!) then I think my old man will be dead by the time he can get something legally....anyway next shot asking strangers ! lol geez I feel like I'm 16 again ... Even then I don't think I would ask a stranger lol, desperation and a sick father will make someone do silly things lol

Thanks b4weed, after scrolling through dozens of fake adds one popped up early this morning that seemed a bit different to the rest(actually stated a suburb where pick up would be) , still wanted to use the wikr app so was a bit suss, but after driving 30mins at 6am and parking at the shops a half oz was delivered to my car! And as far as it goes it ain't actually too bad ! Thanks b4weed I wouldn't have even thought about Craigslist in Australia .... Least I can buy some time now until I can get a full time contact (the guy I met isn't a full timer just on holidays unfortunately )

:good:

Great news Aus........

Hope that does the job for your dad m8...

I'd suggest growing indoors in a tent with coco etc for a regular supply...

May take a little time and money to set up, but definitely worth it ...

Big plus is that you will know what you have put into it (crop) without some of the nasty stuff that is readily available on the street.

Having back pain probs myself, would suggest that you might also find some benefit like I do....

Feel free to ask advice on here at any time, people are here to help m8.
