bad weed blues

see quite a bit of this in my area

anything anyone can tell me about how this weed may have gotten to this state (mostly strain? mostly grow technique?)

is it even safe to smoke?

smell is strange with barely any resemblance to good weed

What you have there is a bunch of nuggets that have been grown with PGR's. They make the buds rock hard and the quality terrible.

For the new comer, What is a PGR? is it a nutrient or grow method?

It's a general term for chemicals used to add weight to buds and make harvest quicker. They ruin the quality as you can tell.

 

Other pgr's (plant growth regulators) include stuff like rooting gel or powders and they don't affect the end product.

I had some offer me a brownie just recently made from that crap, i passed the salt and declined.

Generally is it ok to smoke in small amounts if it is the only thing available? Should I use a vaporiser rather then smoke it?

 

Should I try extracting resin and leaving maximum plant matter behind?

 

Should I just hold out for some respectable weed?

I smoked it when I lived in Sydney cause that is all I could get.

 

Prob won't be a lot of resin on the buds.

 

I know people who smoke it till they can get better then sell what is left so you have options I guess.

Agree Nay. My brother has mates who won't buy anything but PGR'd smoke. They honestly think it is better than normally grown indoor/outdoors. When I have had the unfortunate luck to get this all I ever got was a bad headache.

I've only ever seen weed like that for sale... I've read enough about PGRs to stay away with my own grow.

I do recall around '99 I grew some Apollo something(11, 12 or similar).

 

It grew rock hard buds very similar to PGR buds...

 

Only difference it smoked as good as it looked.....
