THC ? , Know Your Terpenes

Recommended Posts

For those who want to know, here's a list of terpenes found in cannabis, and their medicinal properties.

Linalool: psychosis and anxiety, anti epileptic, pain.

Terpinolene: anti-oxidant, immune modulating and anti- biologically. (anti-tumor,antibacterial,antifungal)

Phytol: anti-oxidant.

Myrcene: anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, insomnia and pain. Most importantly, it lowers the resistance across the blood to brain barrier, allowing itself and many other chemicals to cross the barrier easily and quickly. It also increases the maximum saturation of the CB1 receptor allowing for a greater maximum psychoactive effect. Levels above 0.5% myrcene in cannabis strains cause the couchlock effect.

Citronellol: anti-biological, anti-inflammatory, immuno-regulating. It is well known for being aggressively anti-tumor.

Caryophyllene Oxide: anti-biological against fungus and tumors. Improves uptake of CBD/CBC in the CB2 receptors.

Pinene: bronchodilator, anti-inflammatory.

Limonene: used for the treatment of gastric reflux, anti-fungal, anti-tumor while at the same time being an immune stimulant.

Caryophyllene: anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory.

Humulene: anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anorectic.

Looking at cannabinoids, you have,

THC-A: anti-inflammatory, appetite stimulant, anti-spasmodic,anti-tumor, and used for insomnia.

CBD-A: anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory.

CBC-A: anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, to a lesser extent, anti-fungal.

CBG-A: This is considered the mother of all cannabinoids, because from it, the plant transforms it into all the other cannabinoids it makes. It is the precursor of CBG, a rare neuro-regenerative compound.

DELTA 9 THC: effective in the treatment of pain, nausea, tumors and ADHD.

CBD: anti-spasmodic, anti-epileptic, anti-tumor, stress related disorders and sleep loss, pain.

CBC: anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-tumor, pain and has been shown to stimulate the growth of bone tissue.

CBG: anti-bacterial, anti-tumor, stimulates bone growth, combats insomnia and stimulates growth of new brain cells.

CBN-A: anti-inflammatory and likely anti-biological.

CBN: anti-emetic, anti-convulsant, treatment of insomnia.

Delta8 THC: anti-emetic, appetite stimulant, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties.

CBL-A: anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory.

CBL: medicinal properties unknown. Minute concentrations in relation to other cannabinoids.

If your wondering why the cannabinoids listed above appear similar, for instance, CBG-A and CBG, it's because one is in its Acid form, the naturally occurring compound (Phytocannabinoids) on a growing plant, whilst the other is the decarboxyllated form, or most likely the one we consume when we apply heat to the plant matter, or cure with time. THC-A is non psychoactive, DELTA9 THC, the decarboxyllated form of THC-A, is....

There are atleast 85 different cannabinoids identified and isolated from various cannabis strains, and each has its own unique effect on the endocannabinoid system.

There, saves you a trip to Steephill.com, hope they don't mind me sharing the info with yas.... Laters.

8. Eucalyptol

  • Flavor / Aroma – Spicy. Eucalyptol is used as a cooking spice and fragrance.

  • Medicinal Uses – Eucalyptol is used in a variety of products including cough suppressants, mouthwash, and body powder.

Strain – Some cannabis strains contain eucalyptol, however, it is typically in very small amounts. An analysis of super silver haze showed .06% eucalyptol.
