THC ? , Know Your Terpenes

Recommended Posts

Cool chart Itchy.

One of the ladies who spoke at the Cannabis Symposium talked for a while about terpenes particularly Mircene. She said if you eat a mango (contains mircene) 20 or 30 minutes before smoking it will make the effects stronger.

never heard that B4 Nay but think just like food , we eat with our eyes & nose
i think we smoke with our nose so to speak & think that carries the wait of satisfaction more so than THC %

So could one safely spray a small amount of d-limonene on bud to improve the flavour and aroma?

most likely yes & i think there are already products on the market that claim the same or similar but why would you

bud terpenes are made up of many in natural combination & what research seems to be finding is , you feel more high

based on what you smelt B4 smoking , testing people with hi THC & low or unpleasant smell strains against low

THC & high or pleasant smell strains , found most with the low THC , satisfied / high or higher than hi THC

Big tobacco have done lots of research on the addictive power of terpenes , many childhood memories are based on/in smell

& cleaning products marketing ( part of ) is based in smell

Reckon I would have to agree with that as from very early on in my smoking life I found myself going off smell as a guide when buying weed, found myself instinctively knowing from a whiff whether it was going to be good or not, with a very high degree of accuracy across a range of different aromas.  Wonder how much of it is terpenes acting synergistically with cannabinoids, and how much is our own brain function as a result of sensory inputs?  Would have to say for me though that the smells don't necessarilly have to be pleasant as I have had a couple over the years with unpleasant smells that have still been good, but even then the smells let me know it was going to be good, which sorta made them pleasant in a weird way, I'm sure I'm not the only one to have had that experience.

Yeah me to , was always going off smell

lots of brain function i think , just like walking into mum's on roast day

that smell almost guarantees it'll be good even if some veg is a little under

or the roast a little over that old smell you know creates old memory pleasures

& smells are very individual i think , what's good for the goose is " not " good for the gander

Going by what I've been reading on websites in relation to Terpenes, it may be that soon we will be hunting strains based on terpenoid, rather than THC content.....One site in particular, steephill.com, has very specific information in relation to terpenoids found in cannabis, and the medicinal benefits attributed to each particular terpenoid. Its in their resources section, and is a good read, if your interested in these things...

I agree Terpenes will be the biz

& i will also add the best terpene profiles are coming from organically grown cannabis
