Sexing Plants

Recommended Posts

If you wait till its one foot then take a clone from the top to save for a mum (flower the rest of the seedling IMO) itll be about a month old anyway and should be old enough to show preflowers within a few weeks of 12/12. My skunks have not seen anything but 12/12 and started preflowering at about 8" when they were 1 month old.

am only growing outdoor, i have no indoor setup lol

your plants wont show sex until the hours start dropping to below 12 hours of light a day.. which is early next year... (if your an aussie)

to save you the hassle of growing big male plants tho you can take clones off your plants when they get a bit older and then keep the clones in total darkness for 12hrs at least everyday (6am to 6pm outdoors, then TOTAL darkness) sex will show within 2-3 weeks with most strains (real long flowering sativas take longer)..when the clones show sex, kill the original plants whose clones have shown to be males...

you can continue this covering method on the clones after the fems have shown sex and get yourself an early crop (as long as it done every single day)

other light cycles like 9am to 6pm are more prastical and will work just as well, but anything under 12hrs of darkness per day wont work... the hours of darkness are whats crucial to cannabis flowering not the hours of light...
