So the same government that is making a lot of noise about medicinal cannabis (without actually doing anything) thought this shite would be a sensible and effective community service campaign?  What a bunch of morons, the only people in Oz who will not ridicule this crap are the people who already believe reefer madness is an accurate depiction, and the ads seem to be more directed at convincing non smokers of adult age that weed is bad.  I can see stoner sloth becoming a cool thing amongst teens if anything, and certainly don't see many, if any, teens seeing this as anything but funny, for fucks sake the life of a sloth sounds ideal to most teens and they don't need weed assistance to acheive it

 

I personally believe this was an idea Baird & Co came up with to try and shift public perceptions on canna so they can quietly make med canna disappear, or maybe I'm just being a cynical old bastard again.

 

The quality of the advertising is fairly shit as well, I'm struggling to believe satchi is behind it, either that or they thought it was ridiculous as well and treated the brief accordingly.  Can't wait to see how Gruen treats this next year.

If i'm going to think past the funny side of it. It seems the pass the salt scene's all about parents coming up to speed about what signs to look for, maybe? and then the ridicule stab at stoners being useless. All in all pretty fk'ed up reefer madness.

The biggest thing this campaign is, is a waste of taxpayers money.

I think the campaign sums up the government.

If that's the best they can do to demonise cannabis then it shows how harmless the plant is. The best the could do is a dude who didn't laugh at a shitty joke and who misheard him mum, everyone at the table would have had a little giggle.

They should make a sister campaign called pissed pig, make the same scenarios but with a drunk belligerent teen pig. The comparison would be all time.

Legalisation is a definite, only a matter of time, all the government are doing is stalling so that their rich mates can get into position to dominate the industry, TPP has a lot to do with the slow progress too, so not only will it be dominated by the big companies but America will have free access to our market as soon as it opens. We are very far behind and about to be left for dead.

It's a crazy fucken world.
