First time using proper nutes in soil, tips? how much to use?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, i ordered some seeds from bonza seeds and got the following:

It is the Greenhouse seeds Money Maker Feminzed.

Originally seed went into little peet pot, then put straight into a clay pot for about a month, he then was topping the plant every now and then whilst it was in the pot and just today was transferred into the soil (same spot as last years grow that we only got 13 ounces from becaues it was a very tall plant and it blocked out the light at the bottom). I have attached pictures of what it looks like at the moment.

So basically we were a little bit late off the bat growing this year, the seeds arrived late. You can clearly see where we are at now.

I just have some questions, basically we have decided against using powerfeed etc this time because we have some leftover bloom/grow nutes from my failed potted plant from last year, and we want to use it on this plant in the ground. Also wanted to go organic just because why not. But after much google-fu i have failed to find exactly how much/how often to use them.

What would you reccomend in terms of further topping, and in terms of watering quantity/amount, and also how much of the bloom and grow nutes to use? The brand name is biobizz, i couldnt even figure it out from their sites instructions. I want to get the highest possible yield from this plant, and i tried my hardest last year and caused nute issues on my potted plant. hopefully with this one in the ground, and with all your advice, we can look forward to much higher yields. I'd like to know how much grow/bloom to use during the grow phase (i know your suppoed to use a little bit of bloom), what month we should switch to primaryily bloom, and also when we do that switch, how much grow to use with it also. Reason for these questions is that we were a little bit late planting this year.

Another question, is that i have constantly read that the bio-bizz grow/bloom almost always cause MG deficiency because they are all organic, and that many growers come across mg deficiency a few weeks into bloom, i have found many instructions on how much to give your plant when its in a  pot, but doe anyone have any instructions on how much epsom salt/how to give/when? :)

Here is the name of the nute products, sorry  cant link due to forum limitations so will need to google

Bio bizz bio grow

bio bizz bio bloom

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post and even more thanks in advance if your reply. I am going to update this thread continuously for you all to see, ill be taking some really nice high res pics when i get my camera back in order =)

Another quick question, is, last year we got a strain (cant remember which) that was quite tall, compared to this one being marked as small. The main issue we had with the other one was that the leaves at the top blocked light from getting to the bottom half, thus we only had popcorn on the bottom half. Because of the location of where this plant is, it really only gets sunlight from one direction (front to up and above then behind the fence). So naturally because this is a smaller plant i'd assume the light will reach the bottom easier and we should get higher yield? The plant itself is also ranked as a higher yield. What else can we do to maximize yield in this light-limited location? Reflectors?

Cheers guys

The Money Maker is a Strain Hunters Seed Bank strain

Genetics:
Original Master Kush x Hindu Kush x Skunk (feminised) | 70% indica - 30% sativa

Height:
short plant (average internodal distance 5-7 cm)

Flowering Indoors:
8 weeks flowering time. Yield up to 1.0 gram (dry and manicured) per watt per m2 (with 1000W HPS).

Flowering Outdoors:
8-9 weeks flowering time, with production up to 1Kg per plant depending on the final size. Support for the branches is recommended.

Taste (burned):
nutty, vegetal, spicy, fruity.

Scent (unburned):
berries, spices, kushy, roasted.

What the dried bud/crumbled bud looks like:
The dried buds small but very dense, with huge calyx clusters dripping with resin already after few weeks of flowering. The crumbled bud is sticky, dark green, with black hues. Small, thin hairs.

Speed of high onset:
fast hitter.

Duration of high:
medium lasting.

Quality/type of high:
strong, physical, very intense on the legs, couch locking, meditative.

Medicinal qualities:
against insomnia, pain, lack of appetite.

The The Money Maker is a very old-school plant. A true Master Kush, High Times Cannabis Cup winner in the early 90s, presented in feminized form.

Short, bushy, with very small internodes, it grows very fast and has an extremely vigorous attitude.
The leaf shows some sativa heritage, but the buds are definitely full indica, with a berry-sweet aroma that turns rapidly into a very kushy, earthy feel.
The calyx is large, buds grow irregular in shape and tend
to slight fox-tailing.
The Money Maker makes very compact, heavy flower clusters, and it has very low
leaf-to-calyx ratio so manicuring is very easy.

The Money Maker can take high nutrients levels, and grows very well in soil, coco, hydroponic or aeroponic systems. It performs well indoors and outdoors, and is ideal for beginners as well as for advanced growers.

If you can't understand the instructions you should buy something with instructions you can understand. Don't stress about getting the biggest yield and just enjoy growing your own.

well people have said often that biobizz actually labelld the dosages incorrecty, so i was just hoping to get some proper answers, i tried last time and failed so this time im just askig for some help, i am enjoying every moment of it thanks :)

IMO for out doors you dont really need nutes.

If you have good ground prep the plant will little to no extras added, it will get all it need form the soil.

If you have to feed her use some worm wee or something along those lines and in flower a hit of potash and leave to do her thing...

agree with ozzy ,

some searles mixes have slow release ferts , which searles did you get ?

a top dress of good castings or compost at about the 4th or 5th node then again at the start of flower

& make sure you mulch & rain water will be all you need

if set on using ferts start at 1/4 strength & work your way up slow , but slow release ferts in searles will mess with that

K I S , keep it simple

If you already have the biobizz grow and bloom...

Biobizz grow (1-4 ml/L) starting at 1ml/L, building up the dose so you are feeding the 4ml/L as the plant begins to stretch into flower. After 2-3 weeks of flower you can swap over to the bloom formula again starting at 1ml/L and slowly building up to 4 ml towards the end of flower. Then flush and feed with plain water until chop.

If you don't want to go and get biobizz branded extras and want to guard against trace element deficiencies, I would add seaweed extract and molasses to the feeds. I make a mix of the two in a 1:1:1 mix of seaweed extract, molasses and hot water. Leave the bottle with the lid cracked for a week or so because the molasses will ferment... once the bubbles stop forming it is ready to use.

A really good mulch that I use when I can get it, is pea straw. Especially when vegging. Heaps of unused nitrogen in it. Seaweed extract is great also like Lou said. This year I was lucky enough to get some liquid urea, man is that good when you get the ratio right. You can get dry urea at some nurseries. Outdoors is KISS and lots of talking to your plant. ;-)
