ALERT: Draconian Drug Laws proposed in Victoria.

ALERT: Draconian Drug Laws proposed in Victoria.

An unpublicised amendment to the “Ice” legislation makes it a crime, punishable by 5 years jail, to possess information about cultivating a drug of dependence (aka Cannabis).
Surely this form of censorship is a bridge too far in the escalating war on drugs?
What do you think?

The ban includes the possession of books, magazines and web pages.
Read for yourself this extraordinary legislation called, the “Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Amendment Bill 2015”, particularly section 71E and 71F which passed the Victorian lower house on the 25th November.

This law must be stopped. Please spread the word to protect our freedoms. Contact your local Member of Parliament.
What else can we do?

FFS we got people blowing shit up all over the world, chopping heads of and all that shit. STOP TAKING THE PISS and stop this war on innocent people!

Instead of capital city marches maybe we could have the whole country march on the offices of the elected members  in their electorate far more people involved that way.

Sick of it.

Any reading stuff in regards to cannabis is all ready illegal in Qld.

I had to fight one charge toget it dropped.

Me smoking a bong was class as instructable matreals on a vid clip and i was charged for it.

fuck that's rough.

We got raided for an unrelated matter when I was living in Coolangatta. Didn't find what they were looking for but we were charged with possession for half a gram spun in a bowl, cops turned it into 8g when we got to court. QLD police are the scum.

sad when Victoria is a step closer to being like QLD

Especially for the folks in Melbourne... closer to QLD but no better weather.

Anyone wanting to act on this will have to be quick, forget your MP it has already passed the lower house. You will need to target Victorian senators who can still enact changes.

Hi Louise , thanks for the clarification

...which is insane.

I haven't yet read the proposed bill but right there in the Preliminiary is admission that this bill is to allow fabrication of new laws and subsequent prosecutions.

The civil libertarians will have fun with this. As an Australian I feel embarrassed by this, we are supposedly progressive and enjoy a high standard of living, but I feel like I live under a giant mushroom and it ain't magic. /rant over/
