Weird leaf shape - Is this an issue?

ok. after much thought and googling I think I might stick with the current 8.5 litre pots. If I had some 10 or even 15 litre pots that fit in my grow space, I'd go with that, but unfortunately all I could get was these 20 litre buckets.

 

The general rule of thumb seems to be a gallon per 12inches. My plants are currently around 15 inches in 2.24 gallons and I expect they'll nearly double in size to around 30 inches. It's nominal, but I'm hoping I can get away with it.

If you do not repot the plants then you can try to bind the branches below to win the space.
