Seedling leaves turning yellow amd dying

Recommended Posts

I was using tap water and some rain water on rainy days until i transplanted them to the ground i watered them with rain water collected in a bucked it might of been contaminated with some metal from the roof gutter :/ but ill see how it goes tomorrow morningg .

Is your plant still alive?

Might be a good idea to check the pH of the soil. You can get the test kits at any hardware shop. They prefer to be slightly on the acidic side. My plant is still alive and doing well.

I have dolomite mixed with the soil before i transplanted to level out the ph and it should be stable at ph of 7

Unfortunetly it has died like what i have expected and i still do not know what the actual cause of this problem. Dont want to waste anymore seeds. Have killed my critical kush and bubba kush ;(

And i think it was due to the heat been over 40degrees celcius for 2days and next day temperature dropped to 20 the plant maybe couldnt handle it.

By the way it has keeled over and died... I'd say yes, to it got fried... I have done it myself, put tender seedlings out for some sun and then go out for hours leaving the seedlings to bake. The seedlings still looked ok on the day, but over a few days they died like yours.

Stop being paranoid. Plants of that size DO NOT NEED FERTILISER.

Always remember Cane's quote: 'Cannabis seedlings are killed by too much.....' Water, fertiliser, potting mix, fiddling, moving, transplanting.

Learn the science of growing. All organic type fertilisers are acidic in nature. So is potting mix, which is mostly chip bark. Grow your seedlings in garden dirt. They are vulnerable when young. Put a pinch of dolomite lime in the hole when you plant them. When they are older they won't care much about soil PH unless your situation is extreme.

The time to fertilise is when they are about 30cm high, green and healthy. By then you should have pinched out your first set of growing tips and gained a couple of good stout stems. Go easy on the ferts, they are not really necessary until pre-flower and even then, less is more.

I wish I had a dollar for every canna seedling killed by well meaning but uninformed noob growers.

most seedlings veggie or canna are very sensitive to nutrients early on, doesn't mean they need nothing just can over do it very easily.

Re: above organic fertillisers aren't all acidic, what you will find is a lot of organic acids released by the micro-organisms when they break down the organic ammendments.

I would reccommend you start your seedlings in small pots/punnets in a store bought seedling raising mix osmocote always does well for me.
