LED light height advice.

Hey OS

My Marsii 400w is working a treat for me and my single young Christmas tree, but I know it could do better. After seeing many different opinions all over the web I was interested in what OS thought.

My light is 19" from the main top, being my first plant and wanting the best I'm worried if I get it too close it will bleach the bud.

Can anyone with experience with LED of any type offer any wisdom?

Just drop it right down as far as you can with regards to heat. If it bleaches adjust the height. I would rather find out by a little trial and error than have it so far away.

I dropped it to 13". That's as close as I'm willing to go at the moment. I'll keep a close eye on it.

I have no comparison but the LED looks like it's going to do the job for me. I'm happy with it. It's my first indoor grow and I couldn't be happier.

No offence to Naycha but don't follow this advice. Closer is not necessarily better when it comes to LED.

Follow the manufacturer's recommendations. I think for your light it's about 18 inches minimum.

"Recommended light above plants for seeding and veg time:

135W~165W----------1~1.5(ft)

240W~450W----------1.5~2(ft)

600W~900W----------2.5~3(ft)

1000W~1200W--------3.5~4(ft)

Recommended light above plants for flowering time:

135W~165W----------1.5~2(ft)

240W~450W----------2~3(ft)

600W~900W----------3~3.5(ft)

1000W~1200W--------4~4.5(ft)

 

I have the mars 2 700 and very happy so far.

I have 2 Mars 192 and have had no problems at 18 inches .
