I'm with louise on this. I dont understand how soil drying out would stop her from feeding and force him to foliar feed. Whaaat??. Isnt that part of the whole wet & dry cycle anyway?

​My advice doesnt lack validity because of your misunderstanding (or possibly my incoherence ). I suggested to let it dry out a little before watering it like he had been, keeping the plant in the shade whilst it is fed foliar sprays as the medium dries out a little; it could take a few days to dry out and the rootzone will not easily absorb nutrients at the moment. Under direct sunlight with no nutrients being absorbed by the plant the suffering will continue, the plant will perish. Letting her maintain her wet feet right now would be unwise. The rootzone is damaged and its ability to absorb nutrients from the medium will be dramatically hindered. If she can be kept in a cool shady environment, sprayed every 3 hours or so with a very dilute nutrient solution and fed water after the pot doesnt feel like it weighs 15kgs is likely the best course of action at this point in time. If he has the cash to spend he could purchase a few items to assist the roots.... sure.
