Im getting my doctor to remove from my record that I self medicate.

 

If you read the proposal put forward you will see that they are going to make it Mandatory Reporting for GP's and if you enter a trial you must give away your rights of search to the police so that they can monitor the fact that you are ONLY using your Government Sativex (not funded by the government cause its too expensive $300 US  for a 10g tube) and no other "meds".

 

Im glad that those who truly need it, like parents with sick kids and the dying will get relief, but as for the rest of us....maybe our kids will eventually get it legalised.

Now there will be a set few companies that are going to make fuck loads of cash out of the sick.

 

There will be no place for those who wish to join the supply chain unless they have a deep pocket to begin with, or being well connected, or influential in the game already...check the list of fees for prescription medicines on the Therapeutic Goods Administration's site. Although there is nothing listed specifically for supplying cannabis at this stage it gives a good indication of what the fees could be.

Edit: Scrap that...I didn't realise Medical cannabis will be getting its own regulator. But I'm confident that the new reg will charge like a wounded bull too.

Didn't clarify that part of it, just was very clear that smoking of cannabis was not part of the outcome of the local crops.

I think this is the way it will go here in Australia. I can't see is ever having a model like the current US States such as Washington and Colorado. It will not be private growers setting up, no "green rush". The government and big pharma will benefit.

Early days yet, and there is more than one player. Its true they dont give a crap about reacreational use, Except the cops. They would love for everyone to go back to smoking weed insted of ICE. There job would be so much more simple, and as long as noone gets hurt I dont think they would ever give a crap about grass again. From a recent reprt a fella had a 10 foot plant in his yard and the cops didn't care. They were chasing stolen property. so maybe it wasnt a priority.

This country will take very small steps, there wont be a massive change like the USA.

Demand for Medical Canna is already exceeding supply, In time they will need to source other growers. Maybe an extended licence would be concidered. One crop will never be enough.
