Time to ‘Get Real’ NCPIC

With statements like, ‘Cannabis is addictive and there’s no proof it’s useful for medical purposes,’ The National Cannabis Prevention and Information Centre (NCPIC) needs to grow up says the HEMP Party. “It’s as addictive as tobacco with severe withdrawal symptoms and it causes lung cancer is more reefer madness nonsense from them,” says President Michael Balderstone.

“Victoria is at least unlocking the gate to MC with yesterday’s announcement and NCPIC needs to catch up on some reading. The changes in America have been a win win for everybody and public opinion has changed very quickly over there from about 30% to 65% wanting legalisation now. Once the general population realised pot is not what they’ve been led to believe they soon moved on. But our Govt experts on weed are still saying the same nonsense as before the last war.”

“Our new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull smoked quite a bit of pot we believe and should take a leaf out of President Obama’s honesty on the issue and start reforming the Cannabis laws immediately, as has happened in America. Did Obama inhale? ‘Of course, that was the point,’ he said”.

“We suggest the PM call a National Drug Summit to review the drug war because current policing policy is driving people away from peaceful pot to other drugs like ice which are way way harder to get caught with. Saliva testing and sniffer dogs are actually encouraging dangerous drug use because Cannabis is so bulky and smelly and stinks when you smoke it, unlike all the pills and powders which are easily hidden.”

“NCPIC could do something very useful and educate young Australians not to mull with spin (smoke pot with tobacco) because then it is addictive,”said Michael.

“The Help End Marijuana Prohibition (HEMP) Party is all for freedom of the press, but they should really try and and report the truth, not polished propaganda,” added Andrew Kavasilas, Party secretary.

” Australians are about to be fed another batch of specially prepared reviews via the media, journalists, publicists and press agents who we doubt will spend any time investigating questionable research in the field of Cannabis use.”

“It shouldn’t still be up to us to highlight the half truths, cherry picked reviews, propaganda and empire building of the likes of NCPIC’s Dr Jan Copeland and her group of flat earthers”, he says. “It should be up to those dozens of Politicians, Doctors, researchers and others in the medical profession who have now hitched a ride and are embarking on ‘research’ in the area of medical Cannabis use.”

Cannabis Compassion Australia's submission (No.86) to the Regulator of Medicinal Cannabis Bill 2014 asked that the committee give particular consideration to the following point when making its final report…

:- The NCPIC are a government funded cannabis information service. The NCPIC only publishes anti-cannabis information or information that shows cannabis in a negative way. This has sometimes included fabricated and misleading information. Although being involved in medical cannabis trials themselves, the NCPIC does not recognize that cannabis has medical uses beyond their own trials. Given the NCPIC was initially started with assistance from Pfizer pharmaceuticals a cynical mind would be wondering if there is more than just a conflict of interest here. We ask that this committee recommends an inquiry into the NCPIC to look into why they have published misleading and false information regarding medical cannabis and if the NCPIC need to be replaced entirely in order to supply Australia with the government funded cannabis information service they NEED and can rely on to publish all relevant cannabis information (not just anti-cannabis) that is based wholly on science and free of any bias, personal agendas or conflicting interests.

I agree that Jan Copeland, the NCPIC and others need to be officially held accountable for the misinformation and blatant lies they have spread about cannabis using tax payers money. Their lies has caused people to suffer.

Guys

our government lies to us all the damned time, politicians lie, CEOs lie, police lie, mainstream media lie and public servants lie. That seems to be the one constant, lying. The biggest impediment to Australia moving forward on removing prohibition is the established fiefdoms who defend their right to exist even if they are wrong and persecuting ozzies for a non crime.

Instead of trying to hurt them financially which will never work in a million years I say we name our strains after the anti drug crusaders and then share the seeds/cuts out freely.  We've all seen how fast strains can take the world by storm and more importantly we've all see how good people are at removing things from the internet.

They'll have their sook and get on the news but all the people will see are them with their panties in a twist while we thumb our noses at them.  The more we do it the crazier they'll get for a while but eventually they'll realise that the only way to stop their names being used is to shut their goddamn mouths and stop playing their part in the war against us.  If not growers the world over will be looking forward to the next release of Copeland's coping strategy, Abbott's welfare supplement, etc. and although it'd be a bit shitty smoking some Abbott or any other strain that with such a foul name at least we could all have a laugh knowing there's nothing they could ever do to stop us from naming our gear after them lol
