Yeah, I know, hence why I said living contaminants.

 

I think distilled is going to be better as I will be able to really regulate what nutrients I feed it by adding measured amounts to the distiller water.

 

Adelaide tap water is full of added chemicals from the water treatment in this city.

 

 

No worries just wasn't sure you were aware of that

 

Guy's in white coats in labs do pretty much what your

doing using pure H2O for stuff they do / tests

I prefer rain water myself but that's not always on hand & in abundance

My own personal opinion is that biologically contaminated water is no problem for the plant, hence why lots of people have great success with rainwater.

 

However, it the pH of the water which has a big impact on the plant.

 

Distilled water and rainwater would be more neutral than water from my tap I'd guess. I don't measure ph in the soil, so using distilled water gives me a but more confidence that I'm not going out of an ideal ph range I suppose.
