Guano Spray

Recommended Posts

Both of these girls are at 3 weeks 4 days since they sprouted out of the soil. Temp is 25-30C/40% humidity during light hours and 17C/65% during dark hours.

A is a Mystery Seed
B is Vision Seeds Super Skunk Auto Fem

A seems to be growing a tad faster but has been light green her whole life. No yellowing or anything on any leaves. Just very light green. Both plants are at 6 sets of leaves with lots of undergrowth. I've only fed them Seasol so far since they were seedlings. I'm soil and prefer natural substances as nutrients.

I want to start using a guano with the seasol. I found this guano spray on ebay that you spray on the leaves:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Platinum-Organics-Super-Guano-LIQUID-550mL-Hydroponic-Nutrient-/321866064579

Q: Would this burn my plant if heavy handed? Would I need to water it down a bit? How often would I spray the leaves?

Thanks in advance dudes \m/

yep it would burn if over done , i think the light green is the way she grows , strain , look healthy

how do you want to feed the plant cos looks like there do'in pretty well on there own in the soil they are in

Not sure what your soil is but looks like it's doing pretty well so i wouldn't bother with feeding although

if your in to natural stuff then look into giving a feed of Aloe Vera , coconut water & EM-1 , Aloe will help in building your SAR (  systemic acquired resistance ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systemic_acquired_resistance

EM-1 will help protect & break down organic matter in soil & the coconut water will provide a bunch of growth enzymes & cytokinin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cytokinin

Aloe Vera : Grow your own or http://www.nutri-tech.com.au/products/liquid-fertilisers/nslpgp/aloe-tech.html

Coconut water : Coles / Woolies http://www.nudie.com.au/products/coconut-water/ or http://shop.rawfusion.com.au/products/freeze-dried-coconut-water/

EM-1 : Make your own or http://www.livingapartment.com.au/Products/Organic-Fertiliser-and-Growing-Medium/Probiotic-Living-Beneficial-Micro-Organisms-500ml

A foliar of EM & Aloe works very well & help inoculate leaf surface with a bunch of good guys

Fair enough, thanks for the tips dudes. Soil is just a premium potting mix from bunnings with some added perlite - will get better stuff next grow

I might try the Aloe/Coconut feed - how much of each per litre? And how often should I spray? And I do it when it's the dark hours? Main reason I want a spray is because of my low humidity during light hours and want the leaves to get some moisture

Forgot to mention - plants started out for a week under a 400w HPS and then switched to 400w MH

try not playing around with lights stick with one then the other or HPS all the way though

you can use the coconut water @ 10mil per liter

follow the dose rate on the bottle of NTS Aloetech ,

if using your own plant it's a little harder to answer cos how longs a bit of string

if you've got a aloe shoot that is 2 fingers wide & half a finger thick cut 2 inch bit blend & strain or cut the inner fillet out & blend

mix with 5lts water & see how you go , you shouldn't see any burning from Aloe but it could just be a waste over doing & in organics

less is almost always more

Otherwise you can look at this http://aloeveraaustralia.com.au/aloe-vera-powder-100g.html ( haven't used this product yet )

after you make the water mix use same as coconut rate above

otherwise grow some tomatoes & use as a test for feeding amounts of raw aloe ,

Tomatoes can come in handy for fert testing , just keep in mind you most likely will eat the tomatoes so keep it organic hey

Lu's correct , another way to add feed & make it a little more forgiving than bottle feeding is top dressing ( need to be pre-emptive with this)

, this requires a organic living soil to turn that top dress in to plant food over time , bokashi is good at helping do this relatively quickly
